Time
Time and Ulcifet fled from a clan being devoured by plague, leaving behind her father and brother. The skydancer was initially ill when they left, but recovered; she won't say how. That much was clear when they'd shuffled into the clan together even weeks later, her feathers still not grown back yet, thin and weak but alive. She and the tundra are nearly inseparable, keeping themselves half-quarantined at the edge of the clan, her sharp gaze enforcing distance even after they were sure they weren't contagious.
They gather their own food and offer their surplus to the hoard, and clearly held their own on a trip from the wasteland to the ruins, so they're welcomed enough. Ulcifet at least is much more friendly. The sudden appearance of a recuperating centaur, wrapped in bloodied bandages and equally as wary, was surprising but ultimately ruled a good sign. Gerard tried speaking with him, to ensure he wasn't a spy or that Time hadn't kidnapped him. (This was back before they had a proper beastclan ambassador.) Ulamar denied either but would not speak more beyond that, clinging to his spear as a makeshift crutch. Whatever she did, it earned his loyalty and silence, and he became a shadow to her shadow.
That foolish tundra. Both of them. The exaltee for practicing his magic on ancient tablets and the other, her dear heart, for wandering in on it. Now Ulcifet's been fused with the ancient stone, like it or not, and the merger is not pretty. The skin around the stone is an open sore that bleeds essence instead of blood and Time will have to keep her from losing her magic. Dragons without their magic wither so easily.
It will not happen to her darling.
The ritual is complete; changing Ulcifet's breed successfully removed the ancient tablets that had fused to her body and causing her to leak magic. She spends most of her day helping her dear heart get used to her new body, but she knows Euryale is watching her closely. Revealing her bloodmagic was a risky choice, but the only way she knew how to save Ulcifet.She knows that her meeting with the matriarch is coming quickly. The matriarch has ruled that they can stay, but as apprentices to Thomas. Thank the Lightweaver.
With Thomas joining his mate in the assault on Shadow territory, Time and Ulcifet are left behind as the clan healers. The border guard and visiting warriors keep them busy; she will not use Ulcifet's blood for anything more than a mortal injury, but she can do minor wound cleansing on her own. Even for Raziel's deep wounds, it's easier to simply make her blood return to its rightful place rather than replace it with her love's own.
