Dolos hatched alone in the Viridian Labyrinth. He was so afraid. He was so small and surrounded by so many big things. He didn’t know what to do, so he did the only thing he could. The tiny dragon found a rabbit’s hole and hid. He curled up with the rabbits and tried to be one of them. Nothing wanted to hurt rabbits, right? What kind of monster would hurt a rabbit? Dolos hid with the rabbits for as long as he could until he heard some terrible noises outside of his home. Well, not his home, but the home he was borrowing. When he emerged, he saw a dragon like him. A fae, but black and scary and tearing apart big creatures like they were nothing.

Dolos was terrified. The black dragon looked like he could tear off an emperor’s head, eat it for dinner, and still have room for dessert. Despite his scary appearance, the black dragon, who claimed to be called Thanatos, decided that Dolos would be his brother and that he would protect the weird brown dragon no matter what. Life after that was far more terrifying than it had been before. For some reason, beasts and creatures seemed to be attracted to Dolos. No matter where he went, beasts followed. Luckily, his older brother, Thanatos, was able to protect him.

Eventually, Thanatos dragged Dolos to Dragonhome. That was even more terrifying than anything else they had done. Dragonhome was so open and empty. Anything could’ve swept down from the sky and killed him! Dolos made sure to keep close to his brother at all times. As close as possible. Never more than a few steps away. Thanatos found a nice clan for the pair to live in and almost immediately pawned Dolos off to another dragon.

Dolos was unsure about someone he didn’t know taking care of him, but the odd looking dragon was nice enough. She wasn’t physically strong like Thanatos, but she had strange magic that she used to keep things from killing Dolos. She also used her magic to keep Dolos from killing himself. Away from the dangers of nature, Dolos discovered that he was as much a danger to himself as any beasts were. He was constantly running into things, falling into holes, and nearly dying. Luckily, he had both his brother, Thanatos and his new caretaker, Tyche, to watch over and protect him.
