Linaia is the oldest goddess, older than the Creators themselves. She sprung from the void eons before the Creators did, yet she did not work with them to create the flourishing world of Sorenith. Linaia slumbered in the void for a millennium, not quite asleep but not awake. In her claws she held the Orb of the Cosmos, from which the universe itself sprung. No one dared disturb the slumbering goddess, for fear of her control of time.

While the goddess slept, eons passed. Worlds grew and faded, life and death passed in the endless blur of Time. Then one day, she was more awake than usual. There had been a disturbance on one planet known as Sorenith. She peered at the planet, watching as a years-long conflict began between the Creators. Linaia watched volcanoes spread, ice grow, and the entire planet itself tilt. And one thing more happened. A great storm had sprung forth, and from it, six heavenly wyrms that became known as The Gods of the Cliffs.

There were six of them, all representing something different. There was Eris, goddess of the stars and snow. There was Ceinfryn, god of thunder and justice. Diyani, goddess of fire and dawn. Gar, the god of war and metalworking. Gwyndon, the goddess of love. The last one was Bryaxis, the god of death. Linaia watched them curiously as they went their separate ways. Eris and Gar both left to strike out on their own. Gwyndon and Bryaxis stayed together. Diyani set down into a volcano to discover it's secrets. Only one dragon stayed behind at the storm.

Linaia watched as Ceinfryn stared up at the windstorm, his tail sparking with electricity when he flicked it. Filled with a strange compulsion, she gathered her consciousness and created a physical form and she sent it down the the planet. The form was unfamiliar to her, and she practiced flying for a bit before gliding down to where he sat.

Ceinfryn looked over to see a dark blue she-dragon gliding to where he sat. Eerie blue markings glowed on her sides, and she radiated a sense of ancient power that made him shiver. She landed beside him. "I am Linaia, goddess of time. It has been a very long while since I have visited anywhere. I have seen everything since the beginning of the cosmos, but I have not paid attention to much of it. Do you need a home?" Surprised, Ceinfryn introduced himself and agreed to the offer of a home. Together, they built a massive, sprawling city in the skies so that all of the Gods of the Cliff would have a home. Soon after they finished Godhome, there was a massive shaking of the ground.

The two gods raced to the source to the shaking, to see a massive pillar standing tall in the shattered plains of the north. At the Pillar's peak was a shimmering, impenetrable wall hovering over the sky. Linaia tried to release her form and flee to the space between stars, but the Pillar was stronger than her. She was trapped on Sorenith with the Orb of the Cosmos. Linaia waited for centuries on Godhome as nations grew on the land. She and Ceinfryn had an immortal daughter they named Faluna, and Linaia entrusted the Orb in her care. When, at last, the Pillar shattered, she fled to the stars. No one has seen her since, although she still watches over her daughter.
