Biography

The Ruins Raider

Grekji came out of the sea one day, in the dead of winter, and parked himself right in Clan AXQU's waterfront entrance. The fae seemed bound and determined to make himself the biggest nuisance possible-- screaming at, biting, stabbing, and eating ticks off of anyone who had the displeasure of using that lair entrance. He didn't appear to speak any Common Draconic, and (worryingly) appeared to have the strength of a great leviathan in his veins.

Fortunately, he seemed disinclined to attack any members of Clan AXQU itself. Unfortunately, he had no such qualms about visitors. His little trident acted like a seam ripper, but for living creatures instead of soft toys, and with as strong and tiny as he was, it was almost impossible to remove or move him. The clan called on Adaro, their other physical fae warrior, to back him into a trap and contain him.

According to Riptide, Clan AXQU's water-priest, the vicious fae carried the distinct aura of the Tidelord's blessing. His trident had his name on it in old Water-flight runes, and... well, Riptide had the distinct sense that the tiny fae had been sent. As a gift to the Clan. The majority of the clan was utterly baffled by this, since although they'd lived by the seaside in various ways since their founding, the Clan hadn't ever been particularly tuned in to the Tidelord or his prophecies.

It would be the height of rudeness to decline a divine gift, even a horrible aggressive goblinesque one, so Grekji was set up with a little lair near the clan's underground fish hatchery. Grekji, in general, goes where he pleases. He still doesn't speak, but he's less bitey and stabby, and he seems to be able to listen and understand. Sometimes, he even seems to care for his clanmates, usually by pressing a little bauble or small piece of food into their claw, and patting it closed.

Once he got settled in, Grekji took to slipping off at unexpected times, coming back loaded down with treasures and bones. It turned out that he was slipping off to the Ghostlight Ruins to fight its guardians and bring back all sorts of treasures for the clan. It also turned out that Grekji isn't necessarily opposed to company on those tomb raiding runs. If a ghost shows up around the lair, Grekji is more than happy to unzip it with his trident and destroy it.

Nobody knows why the Tidelord, out of all the deities, sent Clan AXQU a blessing. Gio, their Obelisk blessing sent by the Earthshaker, has suggested that He wouldn't have sent Grekji if Clan AXQU didn't need him. This suggestion, like most of Gio's suggestions, offered comfort to absolutely no-one.
