It was a teenage Agatha that found the egg that was going to become Melissa hidden in a desert bush. It was still warm, and the young harpy knew that meant that whatever was inside still had a chance to live, so she brought it to her den. Agatha and her family tended to the small, brownish egg until the baby spiral hatched and was able to fend for herself. At that point Agatha really wanted to leave her nest and find new adventures and explore the world around her, so her parents gave her their blessings and decided that the spiral would follow her and make sure that they'd stick together against possible threats.

Extremely sweet but very awkward and not the greatest at social communication, so she ends up staring others in silence which gets very unnerving really quickly and doesn't really let her reach her goal of making new friends. She can be often found alone or in the company of her pet toad and familiars, playing with mud and searching in the terrain for trinkets she can trade for treasure or other goods.
