"DOCTOR’S NOTES" Never, in all of my studies, have I been so lucky as to perform research on a thing such as this. As far as I know, these are not TRUE dragons, or are so far removed from their modern cousins that, while draconic, they are only willing to breed with their own. They aren’t invertebrates, I know that much, but their internal skeletal system appears to be somewhat atrophied in favor of their, seemingly recently, evolved chitin exoskeleton. I also do know that these are not created of gods as other breeds are... they aren’t even their own breed, technically. They’re separately evolved from what I assume to be a group of settlers of entirely plentiful breeds in the NorthWest zone. They still count as tundras, as fae, as guardians and mirrors. Perhaps a sort of sub-grouping of the plentiful breed variety. Not only that, but within this grouping are three major divides. Red, yellow, and blue. Red, a beetle and centipede-like grouping with elytra over their wings and a knack for burrowing. Yellow, a mantis and wasp-like variant capable of producing a sour form of honey, and capable of producing a most vicious venom. Blue, a spider and scorpion-like grouping capable of producing a massive amount of webs. Now, all groups are capable of burrowing, envenoming, and webbing, but are incredibly mediocre at whatever of the three they are not specialized for. This points to the abundance of interbreeding between the colors, though how no new groups, or how they haven’t all just muddied together, is unknown. I think I will call these monstrous creatures... Broodlings. More notes to be taken later. |
