Dahlia's earlier years were spent in relative peace in the Everbloom Gardens with her parents and siblings. She loved to run around in lush fields, make colorful flower crowns and wreaths, and lay under the cool shade of trees. Though her family was in the lower class and had little material wealth, they lived contently knowing they always had each other.
One day, however, this peace was disrupted. One of the Nature flight's battles for dominance came a bit too close to home territory. Members of the Arcane flight swooped in, blasting villages with magic in their attempt to push back Nature soldiers. Families scattered frantically in the streets, including Dahlia and her family. All Dahlia can clearly remember from the chaos was running and hiding, more fear pumping through her veins than her small body could hold. She even lost sight of her family in the rush, getting swept up in a crowd attempting to evacuate. Eventually, the Arcane dragons were given the command to stop, as they had finally realized they were destroying many civilian homes. The military officers of both sides put up a temporary truce as the Arcane dragons agreed to aid the displaced civilians as compensation. Dahlia heard very little of this agreement as she charged through the streets, calling for her family. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't find them anywhere. As she collapsed on the ground and wept, an Arcane soldier took pity on her and offered to take her in until they could find her family. While Dahlia didn't trust any of the dragons who'd destroyed her home, she had no other option but to go with the Arcane flight. They brought many other orphaned dragons with them as they flew back to the Starfall Isles.
