In nippongo, his surname ( 綿菓子 [Watagashi]) means "Cottoncandy" and his name ( 龍鬣 [Kimiryō]) means "the Mane of the Dragon". The expedition to Wispwillow Grove ・房柳林に遠征 It has long been rumored that many dragons suddenly disappeared into Wispwillow Grove, or 房柳林 [Nobunagi Hayashi]. Also in this kingdom the legend linked to that dark place is known, so Arcana and Tankyū decided to consult the Divinity because they were interested in finding out if the disappearances were related to the strong magical flows that the forest has poured out in the last period. During the ritual they had a vision of a small lightning shadow that became a cyclone and then attacked them. The sovereign declared an expedition to definitively ascertain the mystery that was hidden around that alleged legend. Forestera, Fuji and Mahō left for The Tangled Wood, camped by Arcana. After collecting information from the clans close to the designated place, they finally set out for their destination and then continued to do their research. During the "circumnavigation" Forestera was taking a look at the vegetation to catalog it (he had never left the kingdom); she noticed a strange sleepy insect on a leaf and decided to warn the others. Arcana looked at him better and exclaimed "But this is a hatchling!"; meanwhile the others looked at each other in amazement. It was clear that he was not well, so Arcana (who was the only one of his own size) picked him up and they camped not far from the place where it was found itself to be able to cure it. After taking the medicine they put him warm and stood there staring at him. Not only was the ruler fascinated by the tiny creature but also the others because no dragon had ever seen another dragon as small as a Fae. The following morning they began to study him while he was still asleep: Forestera began to make various sketches while Arcana noted his characteristics; it was 15 cm of length and weighed 250 g, but the most fascinating thing they noticed was that it didn't have wings. We had never seen a species without wings, even the Gaolers have some rudimentary ones, while this one had only external plaques. The Bug-dragon woke up. He looked at the four dragons and gave a strange laugh. The plaques rised up and a diaphanous wings, with a wingspan of 15 cm, came out of them. He hovered in the air and with the ilk speed of a hummingbird he approached Arcana and began to cuddle her. They decided (however it was cute) to take him back to where they had saved him so they could go home and reorganize their notes. But as soon as they approached the wood they perceived a terrible hostility, so much that the hatchling hid in Forestera's thick fur. |

They remained lurking. In the darkness of that dense forest, several eyes began to light up and then they began to chuckle that made the skin crawl. Arcana sensed the hostility and ordered them to withdraw. The expedition, although interrupted, had not been inconclusive; they returned satisfied with the new information acquired and together with a new dragon, confident that it would not be the end but only the beginning. |
