Iris grew up in the Highwind, believing a lie her whole life that she was the daughter of Eos's late brother, making Eos her aunt. Iris knew nothing of the fact that Eos was indeed her mother; and that Orion- a dragon from the rival clans- was her father. She was always exceptionally curious and had a love of learning, and proved to be extremely ambitious though sometimes sarcastic. She spent her time in her childhood flipping through numerous scroll's in Eos' office; learning as much as she could. Iris became enamored by science, the stars and geology; and how the world worked. She spent days on days studying each scroll till she had them memorized. her ambitious nature and curiosity served her well as she soon rose to the top. However, there was another position she soon held her eyes on. Delta. On a crisp morning in the midwinter's solstice the young skydancer challenged Sirius for his position. After a grueling day full of fights; Iris was up one, five to four. As the stars rose above the Highwind's cave; she claimed her last victory; claiming the spot of the dominant Delta. She served loyally under only Polaris and continues learning and perfecting her knowledge about astronomy, geology and science hoping to one day take an apprentice under her wings and for them to serve as the highwinds scientist. It is however true that she had to give up a lot for her position. Iris missed the chance to form any real friendships in her studies and is quite the introvert; known only to be close to Laika and possibly Polaris. She was known to be the youngest and possibly the smartest Delta in the history of the Highwinds. However- things soon changed. Orion had an old friend- whomst now happened to be one of the most powerful dragons in the land of the Wind Singer's. Antheia. Orion discussed his secret relationship with Eos and their daughter with Antheia one night- after she had returned from the city to visit her old home. However, a spy of the Highwind had managed to overhear the two's conversation- leaking the information to Polaris. In a desperate attempt to secure his family's safety Orion begged his friend to sneak them away from their tribe in fear of their relationship causing any further trouble. Antheia complies, and whisked Eos and iris away from the Highwinds an enraged tribe following in the wake of Eos secret love with Orion and betrayal. In their escape lead by Antheia, Valiance was blinded by Iris as they flew through a rough patch of air, the Highwinds following in close pursuit. As the Highwind members fell back to help Valiance; Antheia, Iris, and Eos got the chance they needed to escape. When Anthia was gifted a castle for research and furthermost of knowledge- she appointed Eos and Iris to work alongside her as equals. To this day the mother and daughter duo remain on good terms- researching and learning together. Orion manages to visit the two every full moon and now that iris knows the truth of her lineage and true parents she has begun to open up to Orion as well. She has also befriended Antheia and Endor. However- Iris has not taken a liking to Aurora. She finds the way she refuses to stand up for what she believes in when the matter starts to get physical as cowardly and weak.
