___The hatchery is one of the larger caves in the underground network of the Lapis clan, functioning like a nursery. Multiple small caves are carved into one of the walls, with nooks slowly made deeper over time by sleeping forms. Blankets and loved possessions are scattered throughout a few of the nooks closer to the entrance, the mess creating a stark contrast to the few neatly-made dens.
___The hatchery provides a secure space for the hatchlings of the clan to grow up in, a safe place they can always return to, as the clan is quite large and can be intimidating to those new to it. Hatchlings are allowed to stay as long as they want to, but many leave to find a place of their own after a month or two.
___Many dragons avoid this area as it can be quite loud, but a couple come to visit the hatchlings every once in a while. Those dragons often act as a guardian to many of the hatchlings, alongside Amethyst - who works at the hatchery full time. One of these dragons is Nightfall, who visits the hatchery quite often and has made multiple friends because of it.
