Despite the heartbreak of losing his first real love and the subsequent desire to simply leave for parts unknown, Vaahto has remained with the Dawnchasers. This is thanks in part to the encouraging words of Petra and Lyrros, but mostly thanks to the timely arrival of a bright and youthful imperial, a wonderful little dragon who came to be called Riverswift... and the love of Vaahto's life, if he were to have a say in it.

Now the spring in Vaahto's step is back. Greatest in size but lightest of foot - that's our Vaahto. To behold him in flight is to see a dance of air, to see grace made manifest. Some wonder if it isn't because he can hear the singing of the wind, a rhythm in his soul that he manages to share through flight and song. Others think it is simply because of the second chance he's claimed for himself, the chance to love again and live again and enjoy every moment.

You'd be hard pressed to find another dragon on the Bluff that brings or emanates as much joy as this immense imperial. His infectious energy elevates those around him until they too are joining him in the delight of life. He dances on the wind like a leaf in a gale, movements shifting from erratic and unpredictable to fluid as silk. His sonorous voice, joined by those of his clanmates, can be heard for spans. And though it rarely carries words, the message is unmistakable: exult in existence!
