Biography
OPHELIA
"Measure twice, cut once."
"Measure twice, cut once."
|
Once a gleaming example of Ice Flight beauty and nobility, Ophelia took great pride in her appearance and status among the denizens of the Cloudscrape Crags of the Southern Icefields. A social butterfly with little a care for the harsher realities of the world, Ophelia happily spent her young life drifting from one celebration of wealth and excess to another. All that changed when a prolonged banquet in the Everbloom Gardens was violently interrupted by an assault from the Plague flight, retaliating for an earlier massacre of a Mirror pack at the hands of Nature. Ophelia was injured gravely in the attack, nearly ripped to pieces at the claws of much larger dragons. She barely managed to crawl away from the ruined gardens for the cover of the Shrieking Wilds. There Ophelia would have died, if not for the unique magical aptitude of the Fae. Her will to live, extraordinarily strong despite the previous lack of meaning in her life, channeled the ancient lines of magic running through the primeval forest into a healing spell that stitched what was left of Ophelia back into one piece. Her inexperience and drive of pure instinct meant the magic was imperfect, however. Though Ophelia survived her grave injuries, her form would never be the same. Embracing her newly discovered magic, she began to seek new ways of making herself whole again. Her experiments in physical augmentation eventually caught the attention of Beta, where using the resources of the Engineering Division she continues to use herself as a test subject. She has other projects too - part of her agreement in joining Beta meant she had to contribute to the higher knowledge of the clan, not just her own self-improvement. But even in her other work, Ophelia's focus is where it always has been: on herself. |
