mire lurker, swampbeast, marsh creature... all such names have been given to the elusive deity, who lays dormant in the murky waters of his home during the day, and visits the mortal realm at night. with unkempt fur, wild and curled horns, and duckweed and algae clinging to his almost always sopping pelt, he most certainly fits the titles given to him. those who believe in him often dwell in or around mires and swamps themselves, hoping to catch a glimpse of him sometime. any dragon who wishes to see him may have the greatest luck in nature territory, as this is where he is often thought to be spotted.

not much is known about Aeternus' demeanor or personality; he doesn't exhibit benevolence nor malevolence towards dragonkind, and his interactions with the other deities are limited. while his fearsome appearance may cause hesitation in the boldest of dragons, he tends to be very gentle and caring for the wildlife around him. he is thought to untangle and free animals trapped in vines and roots within the muddled waters, and have the ability to nurse injured plants back to life.
