Biography

BloodfurGuard

☼ He/Him
☼ Bisexual
.................................................................................

☼ Having gone from too much ego, to too little ego, to finding a moderate amount of ego, Bloodfur still does think of himself as good looking; and simply just tries not to be obnoxious about it.

☼ Bloodfur once had a grudge with Silk, since the pearlcatcher had taken the greaves and bracers of the armor he had started using, but since had let go of the grudge.

☼ Once open to relationships, with the expectation that his children would admire him, Bloodfur has taken time to be by himself and to sort out what he needs in a partner, and how to be a better partner himself.

personality

............................................

Bloodfur was once an arrogant imperial with an impossible temper, which lead to him being put to work as a fighter for the clan. Having to leave the lair and look at the bigger picture, Bloodfur was ultimately forced to look in the mirror following a clutch that resulted in two sons that remained in the clan.

Having mellowed out a great deal, and started a new family, Bloodfur can still be a bit too proud at times, but has learned how to curb his ego and temper. His relationship with his son Choccy is still civil at best, but the obelisk will admit he's done a better job raised Boreal and Giorno, and is mostly a better dragon.

ambitions

............................................

Bloodfur's highest priority is keeping his clan safe, which can sometimes result in him going to far, though the imperial has learned when to back off and when to apologize.

Having made a great deal of effort to better himself, Bloodfur has been mending his relationships and reputations within the clan, and is careful to not damage new ones. Additionally, he is also working on confronting his biases towards center groups.

............................................ background ............................................

Imperials are said to be full of themselves. And it was certainly true in Bloodfur's case, he believed himself to the gift from the Eleven themselves to the clan that he joined. It was an attitude that didn't get him many friends, and one that only pushed the massive dragon to lash out when Clan Devium Animarum focused more on the completely new obelisks, who were revealed to the world not long after he joined.

Bloodfur took the insult personally, and took it out on the new breed. His temper worsened, and he was strong. The clan resorted to asking Loki and Butcher to take him out on trips of the lair, to fight the Shade; and to burn through the imperials energy. He knew it, but some part of him also hoped it would give him a chance to prove himself. Prove that the clan's fascinating to half-statue dragons was a foolish interest, and that he could solve their problems. The fighting didn't help. It only made him stronger after all, better trained. Brutal in a fight, his reckless and selfish nature lead to others getting injured as well. Others, kinder dragons, took hits for him, that he barely noticed. Bloodfur tried seducing Rose, the daughter of Yin; the oldest obelisk in the clan; and got so far as to have a clutch with her. Both sons disappointed him from the second they hatched, both were obelisks. One had dull brown colors, and the other was indecisive and prone to wandering. Lacked a strong will. Bloodfur left the life of their mother as soon as he had entered it.

Then the clan decided to move to Dragonhome, at the suggestion of Yin. Bloodfur had been and raised in the Tangled Wood, and hadn't had the intentions of leaving his home. But some part of him wanted to stay in the clan, some part that not even he understood. The fighting stopped, as Loki and Butcher focused on other tasks relating to the move; and with the trips over, Bloodfur found himself alone to his thoughts. Nightmare after nightmare lead to him trying to make an effort to change, fearing being alone more than he hated the lack of attention. The clan was slow to give him the chance, but when Yin noticed the sincerity of the effort, he gave the imperial a chance. And the clan, once again, followed Yin's lead. They didn't trust Bloodfur, but he was strong and large. He could move more things at once, and seemed determined to be helpful. It seemed like he didn't care about getting approval now. In the Colonnades, Bloodfur helped the lair settle as he had helped the lair pack up. The fighting resumed, but Bloodfur didn't return to it. In what little trust he was given during the moving process, Bloodfur had started to make connections within the clan. Yin began to trust the imperial more; though he never forgot how the massive dragon once betrayed his daughter; Hallo asked him to keep an eye out for things. Bloodfur tried to justify, both to himself and to Loki and Butcher, that the lair needed him to stay. To watch out for any who would dare to steal from them. But no one was fooled, but the imperial was working on his problems and with little encouragement. They didn't argue with the supposed reason.

Despite initial efforts, he never fully relaxed around the clan. His ego seemed to have been replaced with anger at himself, and outside of his job, and friendly enough passing greetings, Bloodfur didn't make friends. The closest he had to a friend, outside of Yin and Hallo, was Gust, an undead imperial who had been brought back somehow with his full mind, not as an emperor. The pair was an odd friendship, most imperials, and Bloodfur himself even, found Gust unnerving at least in concept; though his personality lent well to friend, Gust enjoyed a good joke and a laugh, and while strong and once a warrior, showed no interest in returning to that life. Then came Boreal; cursed to be small in at best an attempt to protect her and at worst an attempt to limit her, stopping her from her research into emperors; who was headstrong and proud. Stubborn and rash. Hyper focused on removing her curse, so she could get back to what she was doing before. In what was proposed as simply a cover for visitors, Bloodfur became her guardian; and the deeper realities were that he was supposed to be a mentor. To guide her from a poor fate, and to hopefully teach her some sense. And, Bloodfur realized, to get him to give himself another chance.

She was difficult, didn't listen. Bloodfur didn't try hard, he didn't know how to without going to far. But he also knew the path she was heading down, and wanted her to get off it as fast at possible. He succeeded, at the very least, in getting her to take breaks, and to be polite to others. And, possibly as a reward for that, or simply a gift of good faith from a friend, Yin entrusted a nocturne egg to him, which resulted in Giorno. He was easier to raise, and Bloodfur proved to be a dedicated father. Raising the younger dragon lead to him figuring out how to handle Boreal's temper; and forced him to deal with it. Giorno had, in copying him, allowed himself to be pushed around by Boreal. Choccy, Bloodfur's youngest son with Rose, even started offering him advice, though tentative at first. The obelisk never came to see him as a father, and Bloodfur never pushed for it; but Choccy had children of his own now. He could see the effort that Bloodfur was making with Boreal and Giorno. As a father, he could understand the effort. The advice helped, and the two came to a mutual agreement, able to be in the same space and not fight, able to share words with each other.

In an sudden twist, Bloodfur found himself taking care of a second imperial cursed to be small, Chinook. The second he realized that Chinook was cursed, Bloodfur was ready to take in the young dragon; though Boreal also basically demnanded that he do so as well. Amused by her insistance, and immediate focus on trying to cure his curse; prioritizing it over her own; and proud of how far the once bratty imperial has come.
