A frost pixie-fae who dwells with her kin in the icy cliffs of the Cloudscrape Crags. Living in nests spun from frozen amber, these delicate little dragons can only survive in the Southern Icefield where the freezing temperatures can sustain their fragile bodies. If subjected to warmer climes their wings can melt and their scales may even split, and they will perish within hours unless returned to the cold.

Nivalise, strong-willed and adventurous, often strayed far to catch glimpses of the world outside the frigid hills of her home. Her favourite sight was the sparkling peaks of the Starfall Isles, glowing with a magical aura that seemed to call to her. The fae was desperate to explore the pink crystal glaciers that connected her region to that of the Arcanist, and on one particularly bright but bitterly cold day the excited pixie decided she would finally make the journey to the edge of the Frigid Floes.

She was warned against it of course, as most pixie-fae are rather timid by nature, but Nivalise would not listen, and headed off eagerly on her adventure, not noticing the change in air temperature as she flew closer to the glittering islands ahead of her. Only when her wings faltered and she crashed into a small glacier covered in ice and quartz did the fae realise she was in trouble, and by then it was too late, and she knew no more.

Coming around, Nivalise found herself back at the start of the floes, the freezing air cooling her rapidly. Two strangers flapped before the pixie, fae like herself, with large eyes that shone like pink gemstones out of heavy furred hoods. She saw that her wings had been treated and the melting process halted, though - as her new friends explained - it could not be reversed. There were thin cracks in Nivalise's mottled scales, but these too had been healed as best as the arcane pair could manage under the conditions.

Noticing the stricken pixie, the two dragons had stopped foraging and come to her aid. But their magic was hampered by the cold, and the healing that was hurriedly performed was not perfect. Nonetheless, Nivalise was eternally grateful, and a strong bond formed between the three. Her arcane friends often visit her now at the Fridgid Floes, wrapped in furs and laden with many gifts, including the beautiful Starwood Veil that the pixie wears with pride. In turn she brings her companions wingfuls of crystalberries, a rare fruit that grows in the Snowsquall Tundra, and now thanks to Nivalise's generosity, also thrives in the Starfall Isles for all to enjoy.

Fun fact: her name is inspired by the latin name of the snowdrop flower, "Galanthus nivalis"
