Seraphim joined the Guild only for one reason; to find ancient forbidden knowledge that would allow him to free a being the Guild holds captive. He pretends to be just a scholar of ancient scrolls, and to keep up his act, Seraphim restores frail old scrolls to their former glory. If his advice is needed, he gives it. But deep down Seraphim only cares about awakening it.

When he is alone, Seraphim talks to a figure of his deity. Promising it that it can come back soon enough, he just needs more time to find the right book. It might be easier said than done, but Seraphim is determined to succeed.

He was chosen after all! Chosen from his coven to go on the quest to restore it.

Failing isn't an option. Failing would mean that he can't face his own kin ever again. Failing would also mean that he would anger his patron and lose his magic.

Luckily for Seraphim, none of the Guild members are suspecting anything.

They have bigger things to worry about than some quirky mage who spends a lot of time alone in his study.
