Heise knew he was always different. He knew that he wasn't like his brothers and sisters- so he fled. He took to the skies when his wings dried from hatching, his brother and sisters didn't have to wait weeks for that. The winds called his name, as he took flight, a feeling of being drawn made him land. A ice colored fae much larger than him was reading a tome of sorts, that seemed to radiate whatever energy he was drawn to. He flattened his frills, scared. When the ice colored fae noticed him, she grinned with her frills. "Descendant of Fia, welcome," She spoke, eyeing him.
He looked confused, perplexed by her emotions. Fae's aren't supposed to express... "I am Violenta, Granddaughter of Oblivion. That makes us cousins, Changeling child Heise. Welcome to Shanokia, You shall be safe here."

Changelings don't always make it back to Fae. In fact, some brought to the fold never leave- like the hatchlings Fae steal. They laugh oddly, blink less, and tend towards staring vacantly towards the sky. All reasonable activities for a Fae, of course, but not quite for a regular dragon-child. Even those that leave Fae intact often get mistaken for witches or fairfolk, and promptly hunted.
