topper/topsider: a neutral slang term used only by some parts of the subsurface cavern-dwelling population of the earth flight for some one who hails from above the caverns, on the surface desert. topsider is typically used in short sentences adressing the subject more directly while topper is usually a more casual throw-in in the middleof longer sentences and usually preceding a colon, but bot hare technically interchangeable with eachother. ex: "he's a topsider." "she's got a good darkvision eye for a topper, i tell ya." the entymological conenction between "topsider" and "topper" is obvious, but less obviosu is that the entymological roots of "topsider" itself, in which the "top" actualyl refers to topsoil, and not the literal cocnept of the "upper" world-making the full original term topsider is a shrotening of "topsoil", as in "topsoil-sider". the etymology is a bit more clear in the context of the other slang term below.
