The cruel second-in-command of the clan is Raziel. Not many are sure how he got up the ranks, but all that opposed him went missing during his climb to the top. They knew he was cunning and dishonest, yet the sugary-sweet words that exited his mouth were enough to sway the hearts of his most vehement opponents. He considers himself to be a silent revolutionary, believing that anarchy and chaos is the way most civilizations will go.

My legs screamed as I bounded away from my troops. Another great loss for the army, I supposed. I left them with an entity that was much too powerful, even with the newly-trained mages holding a shield. Aasim would look at me with a degree of disappointment, but even he knew that the army's quality was going downhill ever since the old leaders had left. Yet, he was not aware of the internal strife I planned on creating. A weaker military meant that Cecily would spend more time dealing with them using her elite troops. Using this opening, I would create a rift within the civilians and begin to collect a portion of the clan to lead and overthrow Aasim. An ingenious plan for a cunning man like me.

I hesitated before the edge of the forest, cutting myself in areas that bled heavily just enough to look like it was a losing battle.

"Are you telling me that they failed again?" Aasim looked at me with scepticism. "We've had a strongest batch of recruits in a while and now you're telling me that they failed to defeat an enemy as simple as a Frost Eater?" Mentally I rolled my eyes. Another probing question.

"Yes, my liege." My reply was curt, to make it look like I was emotionally drained. "They sacrificed themselves to ensure that I could bring this information to you."

"Alright," he sighed. "Go to Sirona and get healed up. We'll deal with this later." I complied.

Late at night, I waited at the front gates. I had dismissed the guards, much to their protest. I could hear the few survivors of their little excursion, all cheering each other on. "Seems to be about five people." I murmured to myself. I strided along the hill, face contorting into a twisted grin as they scowled at me. "My fellow army men," their eyes narrowed, "forgive me for interrupting your little party, but I'm afraid I must stop you all." They were much too tired to protest, stopping obediently. I unsheathed my sword, raising it against the neck of their little "leader". "It is my sworn duty to protect, and this includes myself." Swiftly and efficiently, I removed their existences from this world, placing their mangled bodies into the forest and silently offering a prayer. "If only you had died along with that beast..."
