Sunlight loomed in through the window of Divantae's hostel. The orange rays of morning stretched across the wooden floor, illuminating the soft cushions he slept upon, and directly into his eyes. Stirring, the Guardian stretched his wings, a slight sigh escaping his maw at the peak of the stretch, before it was dropped all together. Divantae sat there, in place, and let out a sigh- Morning already? It seemed just seconds ago when he had laid himself down to sleep, his tired body appreciating the rest. No matter, though- just because his rest is now over, doesn't particularly mean he has a reason to be upset- On the contrary. Morning has always been, perhaps, Divantae's favourite time of day. Dawn, and it's refreshing, open. Full off possibilities and endless, welcome excitement.

He nudges away gently from Devon, careful not to disturb his mate's rest, even as he presses his snout against her- just for a moment, giving himself a short time to smile before he gets to work- After all, there's always so much to be done. Not that he minds.

He steps out of his room and into the hostel's check in area- stepping to behind the desk, he takes the broom and starts tidying up the area. It's not long before his mind starts to wander, his deep voice lifting in a gentle hum.

He wonders, light heartedly, where the time had gone- It seems like forever ago, but his meandering thought leads him to Leo- A name he hadn't really thought in ages. He wondered what had become of his old friend..

Seasons ago, when Leo had first walked into his establishment, Divantae had known exactly what he was dealing with. The way he walked into the hostel with his pearl clutched into himself, how high he held his head- It was clear to Divantae what he was dealing with the moment he saw him. A traveler. He'd perked his head up, his fins flaring out slightly as he grinned a toothy smile- Chiming out his voice in greeting to the Pearlcatcher, he'd said a simple "Hail Traveler!" and that had been the beginning of something wonderful.

Still today, Leo's sons visited Divantae's hostel- Flitting through the door, the twin pearlcatchers often times causing a ruckus in his otherwise peaceful home, even now that they're older. It's not that he minded- He saw in him the same light he saw in others. The light in the eyes of Travelers. Divantae let out a light laugh as he thinks about the light that he himself lacked. Adventure seemed to him, to be something breeded. A recessive gene that traveled in the hearts of dragons with no sense of singularity of home. He could never commit to a lifestyle like that.

Back then, he'd been less good at knowing that light from any other. But in Leo, it shone bright, and he knew immediately the motivations the other Dragon had for coming to his hostel. Leo had answered him with a casual, "Hey- I was told that this is the place to go for those who need a place to stay?"

A fond memory, indeed. Divantae chuckled lightly and glanced to the hallway that he had lead Leo down, both of them sharing stories- Leo of his travels and Divantae of travelers. Leo spoke fondly of a past lover- A fae who he'd share time with in his journeys. He'd left after a single nest, and Divantae shook his head lightly.

"I don't think I could leave my mate." He chuckled, "Plus- This place is my home. When I was younger, I thought I might like to travel like you do.. But I've found that I get all the adventure I need here."

Leo had laughed, playfully bumping into the guardian's side as he responded. "Hey then- Maybe I'll come back someday and bring you along with me?"

They'd shared another laugh. The rest of Leo's stay was much the same- Lighthearted conversation, stories and drinks shared into the night- It hadn't been long until Leo had found a new lover in this territory, and Divantae had just chuckled when Leo accounted their meeting, with such enthusiasm.

But the time had come when Leo left- This was to be expected, of course. No traveler can stay forever.

Divantae looked at the door, which swung open as the fond memory of friendship passed. Oh well- It would seem that it's time for him to have another adventure.
