Korat was one of the first dragons to hatch into the newly fledged clan, but she spends very little time with them these days. Instead, she travels widely on missions to acquire various things for Lakeisha. A tome from a bookseller, a scroll from a dusty tomb, a set of mystical crystal polyhedrons from the vault of a collector in Dragonhome.... More prosaically, she picks up Lakeisha’s mail, since no one delivers to obscure landmarks in the middle of nowhere. She takes requests from other clan members, too—she has a standing order from Shanneira to pick up tea wherever she goes, and Liast is almost always looking for the next book in one series or another. Although she usually pays for her acquisitions as long as the price is fair, she has few scruples about obtaining them by other means. These range from barter and quid pro quo to clever blackmail to using the target’s enemies against them. Outright theft is usually a last resort, but it’s never entirely off the table. She enjoys an adventure almost as much as closing a good deal, and some of her favorite assignments have involved searching caves and trekking through deep forests. Korat is bold but not reckless, and always pauses to quickly survey a situation before choosing the best path forward. She avoids fighting, instead relying on cunning, stealth, and speed to keep herself out of trouble. (The scars on her shoulder are from an incident where she was pinned down in close quarters and unable to escape.) Since she’s away so much, and she never clicked with her assigned partners even when she was around, she’s asked to be exempted from Lakeisha’s triad requirement. Lakeisha has agreed, although with a warning to the rest of the pack that this is a special case. Korat has nested once with Lumen, resulting in a single daughter who left the clan entirely after traveling with her for a while, and she seems more than satisfied with that. Although she enjoys her brief stays with the clan well enough, she’s happiest roaming the world, untrammeled by others and fulfilling her assignments on her own terms. 
» Korat is good friends with Vixen of the Seaferal. She often catches rides with the ship, if they’re going her way, and when she does, it’s not uncommon for her to help the rogues with one of their jobs, or vice versa. » In addition to Common Draconic and Beastclan Pidgin, she's fluent in several corven dialects and knows a smattering of maren and harpy phrases. » While she often regales the hatchlings with stories of things she’s seen and dragons she’s met, she almost never tells them about things she did. (It’s not just the questionable legality of some of her adventures—while she likes to be appreciated, even admired for her work, she’s uncomfortable with being idolized.) | ********** |
