When he was older, he started seeking knowledge about gold, reading through piles of documents for the thirst of knowledge. - - - Then, after long days in the clan hoard learning, a recorded discussion between famed alchemists on paper made him realize by alchemizing familiars, there was a small chance that it might produce a gold-coloured substance, but was later discovered was not pure gold. This revelation costed his conscience. He began searching for 'purer' familiars "for science", and when that didn't work, he fixed his gaze onto other dragons. He lures them,mostly interested hatchlings, in, maybe "recruiting" them as a apprentice. The only thing everyone else knows is that once they come to him, the dragons rarely come back.
