I. Love. These. Cars. Oh, my gosh, I love DeLoreans SO MUCH. Yet, I have NEVER seen one in person, and it makes me SO SAD. One of the most glorious car designs in history in my opinion, the DMC DeLorean was likely made famous by the Back To The Future Trilogy. The company, DeLorean Motor Company, was founded in 1975; the last DMC-12s rolled off the factory in 1982.
With only 9,000 DeLoreans ever produced, it's believed that there are less than 6,500 cars around today.
The DeLorean DMC-12, best known as the "Back to the Future" time machine, could be the nation's most famous automotive failure. Lack of consumer interest, costly production, and unfavorable exchange rates drove the company to bankruptcy.
It SUCKS, however, because the DMC-12 is actually about as reliable as the Time Machine is in real life. They have lots of issues mechanically, and since they're made of stainless steel, are they heavy beasts weighing in at over 2,000 pounds for their size.

Okay so I am not a car person (my dad is, so I think some appreciation transferred just by hearing about it all the time) but I adore your dedication to the car fandergs.
