Biography

Reykjavik and Washington were visiting a friendly clan in Wispwillow Grove and decided to nest there. They had heard stories of some hatchlings in the area being born without eyes, having instead a strange, dark purple goop constantly dripping from their eye sockets, but dismissed these as legends. After all, the shadow flight has plenty of those. Didn't they also warn of tiny magic dragons who would kidnap you and make you age a hundred years?

But then their clutch hatched, and suddenly the legend became a real, lively little dragon. Zarqa didn’t seem to be bothered by her strange eyes and her blindness, but the other hatchlings were a bit hesitant towards her at first. Still, once they found out that, if you attached a bell to the ball, she was actually quite good at dragon ball, they had no trouble including her in their games.

Once her family moved back to the Dolomite Caverns, she struck up a friendship with Madrid, who liked to watch the games when she was not in her workshop building strange instruments. The red spiral introduced Zarqa to music, and this is where she found her true calling. But while Madrid plays many strange, experimental instruments, she fell in love with the deep, thrumming sound of an old bass that was collecting dust in the back of the instrument builder’s workshop.

Madrid taught Zarqa the basics, but it soon became clear that she would have to find more experienced bass players to progress. So Madrid gifted the young skydancer with her old bass and she spent the next months traveling through Dragonhome, learning from various musicians, though none were as advanced as she had hoped. By coincidence, it was actually at a game of dragon ball that she met rock singer and guitarist Ehrde. After a few jam sessions they decided to give a concert together for Rockbreaker’s Ceremony. With dragons coming from all over Sornieth, it would not only be great fun but also an opportunity to make new friends and perhaps finally find a good teacher.

What was she... going? somewhere? Must be like going into a different room and forgetting why. Maybe she'll remember in a moment. (Who is she? ...Herself. Of course. Who is... who she is.) Wasn't she supposed to... do... something (Is the world bigger? Makes sense it seems so after traveling, expanding horizons...)

—What is
that? that vibration in the air, that resonance in her bones, that shiver in her wing membranes, what is that sound—

Lekka

Exceptional acoustic location and navigation. Deeply interested by anything that resonates, with a particular focus on how to amplify the sound to make it deeper. Whether she'll build toward an orchestra of seashells or terraforming Sornieth into a living amphitheater is yet to be seen.

Works in a satellite function of the Achievements Association while she figures out where her passion(s) and/or vocation lie and how to pursue them. Not as one of the employees who go out to officially witness the feats worthy of note like Steve the Intern reaching a million points in Shock Switch point two five seconds faster than the previous fastest on record, but in the back, back office. Sorting dusty, faded wads of parchment from before proper filing was implemented, that record feats long since obsoleted. Someday, her work might see the light of day as a (tiny) percentage of content published in The Book of Past Achievements (Vol x). Someday, some historian might find it useful.

Hoard consists of unprovenanced secondhand trophies and discarded medals, because they obviously had meaning, somewhere and somewhen... is worth gone just because it's been lost?

Keeps trophies along with a ridiculously themed sweater from one of the same shops, scratchy fabric worn soft at the cuffs and collar, hoodie pocket, and big enough to fit two of her at once. (The best kind of sweater. The best sweater of its kind. Her favorite possession from the moment she picked it.)

The only ones at Wanderin who have noticed she isn't another fae are the faes themselves.

Remy saw Lekka's sweater and realized the cutest thing in existence would be a pillow tucked in a sweater like that. He couldn't find another colorful bunny-eared hoodie, so he made do by giving Lekka a pillow so she can put her sweater on it sometimes.
