Long, lean, and sleekly muscled, Katchiara gives the impression of leashed, perfectly controlled physical power and almost frightening competence. When she plants her feet and levels a firm gaze at an intruder, demanding that they state their business, they’d better have a good reply. In a fight, her movements are swift, graceful, and economical, with no effort wasted. She supplements her claws with an assortment of knives. (Only a fool turns down an extra weapon.) As the pack’s chief lair guard, Katchiara is responsible for surveying their territory, identifying any threats (both actual and potential), and preparing countermeasures. In extreme situations, those countermeasures would involve calling upon the heavy hitters of the pack’s coli teams, but for the most part warning signs, traps, and the occasional skirmish are sufficient. Her mates, Collin and Tik, often assist her in noncombat roles, while Astero’s arrival in the clan has given her welcome fighting support, and Kituvor and Laiaka are proving to be adept aerial scouts and light battle mages. Given their remote location, their compact and centralized territory, and the defensibility of the Spire, she believes they're relatively secure despite the pack’s small size. Katchiara is dedicated to protecting the pack, and her loyalty is unwavering, but she lacks the ability to make deep emotional connections. She's fond of her “boys” and would lay down her life for them in an instant, but the love that they have for her bemuses her, and she’s faintly regretful that she doesn’t feel the same way. Her coolness means that she’s capable of making hard, calculated decisions, even if it involves sacrifice, and she’s one of the few dragons in the pack who isn’t intimidated by Lakeisha. Despite that, she generally doesn’t go against Lakeisha’s orders—she considers Lakeisha to be a strong, focused leader who usually makes the right choices where the clan’s safety and functioning are concerned. She’s aware that Lakeisha spends much of her time focused on “magic things,” but it’s an Arcane pack, so—what do you expect? Katchiara does the occasional interior security walk-through of the entire lair, but she’s mostly satisfied to leave the safety of Lakeisha’s work sanctum to the mage.
