Personal Lore
A founder of the Atrium, School of the Arcanist, Phosfor is the only dragon the god came close to granting his trust. As a result, Phosfor believes he is marked. He is the first dragon to ever receive the Arcanists personal gift of primal sight, a boon that takes the abilities of dragons brimming with potential and brings them to blossom beyond their limitations or experience--all in the name of discovery. For Phosfor, he found his natural talent for the manipulation of genetics enhanced.
Phosfor was given the task of crafting bloodlines capable of replicating the gift of sight in other dragons through their offspring. Phosfor took pride in his work of creating natural replicants of his talents, even when many of them died in the name of progress. Dark turns in experiments were merely obstacles to be overcome, and secrets to be hidden from dragons too weak to see the Arcanist’s work through to a successful end. Like the Arcanist, Phosfor sought knowledge at any cost. The favor he gained with his god proved his status, his accomplishments and his intellect. He was elected among those at the Atrium; the Arcanist’s favored, blessed pupil. Or at least, so he believed.
The ever-turning wheel of the Arcanist’s search for progress expanded. Another dragon blessed by The Arcanist with the primal sight appeared, then another. And another. None of them had Phosfor’s dedication, his work ethic, or his vision. None of them had sacrificed as much as he had. None of them created works so great as the primal hatchlings crafted under his claws.
Overcome with betrayal, Phosfor turned on his project in a rage. He tore everything apart. His research and his test subjects burned in an explosion that took a part of the Atrium with it. Phosfor vanished with the smoke he left behind.
Those who know of the Atrium believe that the accident that destroyed the genetic primal experiments took their founder with it. It is a story the Arcanist allows the masses to believe and mourn, but the massive loss of knowledge is something he will never forgive, and never forget. He does not know if Phosfor is still alive, but he will not rest until his Seeker finds him or his remains.
If he still breathes, he will pay for the damage he has caused.
