About-
It was evening, just before the witching hour, and Nebula was organizing paperwork.
It seemed like there were many endless hours like these, when his duties took him away from other, more entertaining pursuits. Although who was to say that work couldn’t be entertaining as well?
That, of course, depended on what your calling was. Nebula had answered his early, and intended on seeing it completely to fruition.

Nebula was the leader of the Spectral Solar, an elite gathering of beautiful and intelligent souls. They had stardust in their blood, running serenely through their veins. Any dragon would know the clan by their luxurious, shimmering scales, and Nebula was the most beautiful of them all.
He was their leader, and his work did bring him some excitement, some of the time. None of the other dragons fully understood who he was or where he had come from. They had decided to follow them because they were followers of beauty, and he was very beautiful. His genes and his manner were godlike, in their eyes.

Perhaps because he truly was a god. He had descended to the band of star-stricken children and decided to lead them, for a time. He had organized an alliance with the Withered Paradox, to keep them safe, and had given them all a beacon of light in the darkness.
None of them really knew anything about him, and he was happy to keep it that way. It was better for the board to be unbalanced, he liked everything just fine from his cozy throne.
Nebula knew everything about his followers, of course. He knew the past, present, and perhaps the future of each serene disciple of his ways. In visions, he could see their tomorrows and their yesterdays, but kept this knowledge to himself.

The board should always stay unbalanced until there are the right players.
Nebula was the perfect leader, and he intended to keep it that way. Peace would reign for as long as he saw fit, and he would keep his people safe for as long as they listened to him.
He would keep their past, present, and futures hidden safely away in his desk, with the plans that he had for his Clan. Hidden within the politics of paperwork, for him to return to in the morning.
Sometimes, however, Nebula wondered what move he should make next. He was more than his appearance and good breeding - he had ambition and heart and so, so much boredom. He wanted excitement and chaos; he wanted to tear his Clan up and rebuild it anew, even greater and more beautiful than before.

He wanted to test the water before he unleashed the storm of what was to come.
Alas, tonight would not be that night, however. And tomorrow would not be that day. Perhaps in the future, after all of his follower’s tomorrows had passed, he would stir up a bit of excitement for himself.
Yes, tonight he was just a beautiful leader, ruling over a Clan of beautiful dragons. Nothing more and nothing less, with no secrets to be kept. The night would come and go, and with it the stars would disappear.

But they always returned the next evening, he knew. Brighter and more terrible than before.
