Biography
Young dragons are warned about the lake. Something lives there. Something...evil, their parents say.
Young dragons scoff at this and none scoff louder than Cap. He's brave. He fears no bedtime stories of watery monsters. The lake is just that-- a lake. Nothing evil lives there. He's sure of it.
His claws crunched through dried leaves as he walked. Cap took a deep breath of autumn evening. The lake was visible in the distance, a vast, still pool surrounded by bamboo. Even in the dark it was beautiful, certainly not the sort of place he'd expect to find a nightmarish monster. The whole premise was ridiculous, the Zephyr Steppes were a peaceful place. Monsters didn't live here.
He stopped at the edge of the shore, the tips of his claws touching the water.
"Monster? Come and get me if you're real!" he shouted into the night.
Nothing happened.
"Ha. I knew it."
Something Terrible lurked beneath the water.
It could sense a presence. Something disturbed its lake. A victim was near. It hummed with satisfaction and started a slow rise to the surface.
With nothing more than the tip of its nose above the water it located the dragon.
etc etc bad things
