The Marens' Many-Greats Aunt
Mersiren is so very, very old. She remembers the time before the birth of the Arcanist, when marens lived on land. After, they joined her in the sea, worshipping her as a goddess of the Sea and Song.
Mer's singing could be heard across the whole of Sunbeam Ruins, if she so wished. It would make the whole Flight cry, too. Losing her entire people to the depths and reaches of the Ocean is the sort of grief that doesn't fade, even thousands of years later.
She sings with Nightbloom and the other Fire-breeds, sometimes. It helps all of them feel closer to their roots, despite hers being the Ocean and theirs being the Flamecaller.

Since the arrival of the Undertides, Mersiren has struck friendships with Volcava, Crevasse, and Pearlescent, and likes chatting with Cembule and racing him. She's aware that Volcava basically reveres her as the "missing link" in a certain historical theory that's been floating around the Deep for a while, but not that Volcava has started a minor cult around her.
