Hariwake

↠ Scout
Narya and Hikari's sibling, and is a relaxed and level-headed mediator between the two.
When she isn't busy playing peacekeeper, Hariwake scouts the clan's territory for threats or visitors. She is a competent fighter, but relaxed enough not to immediately fight anyone who enters their territory. This is a great asset, as the clan is fortunate enough to receive few genuine threats.
She knows Hikari is studying medicine in secret - she is privately happy for him - and helps keep Narya from finding out.
Namesake: A two-toned, metallic koi pattern.

CLAN LORE
____iThis is the lore that applies to my clan. To be honest I don't know if it is contradicted by the general FR lore, but in my own clan this lore takes precedence. None of it is meant to contradict anyone else's lore or belittle real-world issues. I'd just rather think sexism, homophobia and such isn't an issue in this fictional world and this lore reinstates that.
____i
General
Gender:
- there aren't any rigid gender roles (e.g.; profession, parenting, conduct)
- gender isn't a limitation in power
- there aren't any expectations that female dragons should or will have hatchlings
- for dragons who's gender or pronouns don't match their physical tributes card, other dragons adopting whatever pronouns the other is most comfortable with without question
- this isn't considered strange or inconveniencing, and contains no stigma
what an ideal world
Sexuality:
- there aren't any labels
- pan is the neutral but everyone is valid
especially asexuals
- 'coming out' isn't really a thing
- dragons generally don't feel the need to share their orientation with anyone other than their partners, and even then there isn't any great expectation to elaborate
- dragons that are in breeding pairs aren't assumed to be het
Mates:
- 'mates' doesn't necessarily mean dragons that have offspring together
- monogamous, polyamorous, platonic and ace relationships (amongst others) are all equally valid
- relationships between any gender/s is all good
- courting differs between couples, but there is usually a courting period in which either one or both are actively courting the other; there's no expectations that the male/'more dominant' one will initiate courting
- what being mates means is different to different dragons, there is no 'standard'
- different breeds can be mates
- I won't say some dragons don't look a little oddly at Fae x Imp pairs though
Nesting:
- most pairs that breed are in established pairs
- these may be romantic, platonic, purely reproductive or motivated by any other number of reasons
- pairs almost always get along well, and pairings are always consensual
- there are specific breeding grounds, where pairs usually have their own private nook
- though there isn't any shame tied to breeding, its still very private
- pairs generally nest their eggs together, taking turns in who leaves the nest to bring back food or to just stretch their wings
- how evenly this is split tends to be rather dependant on the pair
Parenthood:
- parenting style is highly dependant on the pair in question
- some are very involved with their hatchlings, others hardly say goodbye when they leave for new lairs or to assist the Arcanist
- sometimes the parents name the hatchlings and sometimes the hatchlings are encouraged to find names for themselves
- some parents really grieve the children that leave the lair while others are proud or even nonchalant
- schooling
- age
Clothing:
- some dragons like to wear clothes, others don't
- it can reflect class or position, but 'naked' dragons aren't considered jobless and impoverished
Familiars:
- generally, if the familiar is in the dragons bio, it is significant, if they aren't mentioned, they're there for chests or aesthetics
- the relationships between dragons and familiars is heavily dependant on the pair in question
- some dragons don't care about familiars at all (and these dragons might have a fam anyway because gilded chests)
- some dragons consider their awakened familiars best friends while others are more business like
- some who awakened familiars have no lore connection at all
