Here is where I got this snippet of lore- Thank you Lotron!!!

Gaheris does not remember being born. Well, that was normal, since he didn't even have parents. There was The Maker, but he didn't count. Parents were supposed to care for their creation, and The Maker only views Gaheris as an experiment, not a living being. Gaheris felt like a real dragon, so why couldn't others see him that way? But again, what does being a real dragon mean? Is he sure he feels what a real dragon would? Gaheris prefers no to think about it. It only makes his already hard life even more tough. Most dragons viewed him as an oddity, so he had no friends or dragons who cared what he was feeling.
He was about to give up on life, when he saw some dragons playing D&D. He watched from far away, captivated by the game. He could live a completely different life in D&D, be whoever or whatever he wanted! And so his obsession with D&D began. He got so into the game that he even went as far as transforming himself into his character. Yes, when he was dressed up he was still an oddity, but he was an oddity because he willed it. Gaheris feels more in control and peaceful when dressed up, so why wouldn't he wear it?
