Kiril woke up ready for the day. It was a fine morning in early spring, which meant that, any day now, her magnolias would bloom, and she wanted to be the first there to admire them. She hurried out the door and towards the garden, well prepared for the day's planting, weeding, and tending. When she got to the garden, she saw that her Magnolia tree as indeed in full bloom, its full, pinkish-white flowers already shedding petals onto the ground and into the wind. As she stood appreciating her tree, she was disturbed from her reverie by a small shuffling, scratching sound. What could that be? she asked herself. Carefully, she tracked the sound to a secluded corner of the garden, where she know that hardly any flowers grew. There she saw, digging among the weeds, a small, yellow, ferret-like creature for which she had no name. It's digging in my garden! she huffed to herself. She was just about to give the little thing a piece of her mind and chase it away when the creature dashed off, only to return a moment later with a small, uprooted daisy in its mouth. Very carefully, it lowered the flower's roots into the hole and covered them back up with dirt. Seeing this one, pretty little daisy standing bravely among all these weeds, Kiril was filled with affection for this little creature that had brought beauty to this desolate corner of her garden. "You know what?" she said to the little creature, who startled at the sound of her voice. "You're not bad. I think I'll keep you as a pet. I'll call you Plume, on account of the tuft of fur on your head." And that was that. To this day, Plume cultivates that once-desolate corner of the garden when he's not busy helping Kiril with her planting.

VITRUM'S VISIT

"Vitrum was very curious as a hatchling and had a tendency to ask a lot of questions. She also kept having a recurring dream of some place warm and golden. She had no idea why-she was an ice dragon so her experience said something totally different. When she asked questions of elders they said there was such a place but why would anyone want to go there? She did! She determined that as soon as she could she was going to visit every last warm place there was!

She wandered between wind and earth territory a bit and they were certainly warmer but didn't match the hazy memory of her dreams. Asking other travelers taught her she is probably looking for a place called the Ashfall Waste.

She eventually found Mithrandir's wind clan and spent some time there. It was rather crowded because there were a number of dragons visiting trying to retain the various services offered by the clan. Regardless of the extra activity, this clan let her try her hand at whatever she wanted and she loved it. She didn't think much of her efforts as an artist but then there was Kiril's project.

She was fascinated when she saw Kiril rearranging part of the garden and bombarded her with questions. Kiril showed Vitrum everything she was doing. It was exciting yet disappointing to learn that gardening was an ever changing job. Exciting because there was always something new to learn but disappointing that it would take at least a year to learn the basics. She didn't want to stay That long!

Kiril introduced her to Terran who maintained the edible garden and while it wasn't quite as exciting as stolen views, hidden surprises, and flowers it was still interesting. Kiril assured her that almost every clan has at least a bit of an edible patch and so there should be someone in each clan that could help her learn more of the basics at least.

With that she was ready to go on her way again . . . in a few more days."
