Biography
Bought for: 300g
Art by Queen Persephone <3
Shattered moonlight rocked gently on the surface of the ocean, trembling as each wave rushed ashore. The air smelt of salt and sand, but also of a slight chill that after the long Summer months, the young skydancer had grown unused to. Breeze whistled down the ragged cliffside and scooped up billows of sand upon reaching the beach, whirling them back up into the sky and then out to the far away horizon.
Arbor watched the stars as he walked. One foot in front of the other, slowly, dreamily, as if sleep walking towards the frothing edge of the wide blue sea. Pale beneath the midnight moon, the sand around him stirred sleepily and his pale tawny eyes, clouded over before, opened wide and locked onto the lapping tide.
Words had never been his strong point, and so it was no surprise that Arbor not find the words to describe the majesty of this midnight blue stretched out before him, only for him. Possessions were only a small part of his life, living on such a vast piece of the world, and though it was hard for him to make a connection between his beloved mith doll (which, he only quickly registered, he must have left behind in his cave) and this glorious bay, he still knew somewhere at the back of his mind that they were almost the same to him, that they both belonged to him alone.
Quickening his pace, Arbor began to form a bright and joyful grin on his face as he started to bound towards the edge of the water, stopping only at the crash of a new wave sliding ashore. Playfully, he dipped in a talon, laughing at the tickle of the foamy water and pulling away again. In a rush of enthusiasm, he bounded in and yelped happily as the cold water seeped in between his scales. Arbor loved the ocean; always had, even at hatching. It was all be could remember, and he treasured it perhaps more, even, than he treasured his life. Despite his adoration of the sea that gave him his home and life, he was wary of the deeper, darker parts of the ocean, and even though he was in a slightly bleary state, Arbor made sure to only paddle where he knew it was safe.
Little grey, smoky lights began to ripple through the water around him, and his smile enlarged. Smoke rays, glowing rays made of underwater smoke and steam. The creatures were Arbor friends and guardians in the ocean, protecting and playing with him whenever he came to the waters edge.
And so it was for the rest of that night, as Arbor played and splashed around in the silvery moonlit water until the blue began to take over and the moon and stars began to give way to a reddening sky.
Dawn came all to quick, and the rays slipped away along with the receding tide. But Arbor was happy, satisfied with his night of play and joy, and safe in the knowledge that there would come another night where waves of moonlight bathed him and rays of smoke swam round him.
Thank you Fennecfox21 for the lore! <3
Previous Appearance:
It had been many years since he'd seen this beach. Flashes danced through his mind of moonlit swims, of soft waves, and dark shadows. Of sharp teeth, but kind words.
