With a cry of desperation unnatural for a dragon of his breed, he pulls away. He feels eyes on him from every direction, watching him. Judging him.

The plague inside the dragon before him grows, and he can do nothing to stop it. He had failed.
He was nothing to Her.
He was truly nothing at all.
