Biography

Salamander
Clan Warrior // War Representative
Salamander, nicknamed Salamander the Giant by awed onlookers all across Sornieth, is a dragon with a hot temper. It can easily be argued that she likes fights almost as much as she likes women. She is married to Amazonite and they have matching rings- the Guardian claims the rings to be her Charge, although she was born without one. Both of the dragonesses hail from different regions, but they ended up living in Skyreach together and eventually fell in love. Each had an interesting childhood, but Salamander’s origin story was far from the norm.

To start off with, Salamander's egg was abandoned. It was part of a mass hatch event held in the Blacksand Annex, which was designed to make sure that no possible hatchlings were harmed or abandoned out in the wild. The idea was a good one in theory, but the general chaos of the event made it easy for eggs to go unwatched. An overseer accidentally rolled Salamander a bit too far away from the main area, and as a result, an enterprising Onyx Cobra stole her. Just as the dastardly snake sank its fangs into the shell of its meal, the egg decided it wanted to live and split right open.

A dragonet with fire-toned scales and deep blue eyes burst forth from the barnacle-encrusted egg, Gembond stones already crawling across her scales as the snake’s venom coursed through her veins. The tiny Guardian ripped the cobra apart and went off in search of more things to eat. She survived all on her own, fiery but adapted to water, learning from the immutable rules of nature as well as the dragons she occasionally met. She acquired her name, Salamander, somewhere along the way.

When Salamander was a teenager, she began to crave frequent interaction. The travelers she met had been company enough during her hatchling phase, but she was older now. She wanted an adventure of her own and a place to stay where there were other dragons to talk with. The Guardian picked a star to follow, found a worn dirt path, and set off on her first proper journey.

Somewhere along that dusty road, Salamander met a pair of Skydancers who looked unrelated but seemed to be heading somewhere together. Curious as to who they were and where they were going, the Guardian fell into step with them. The larger Skydancer was a Earth-aligned male named Hazy, while the smaller one was a Light-aligned female named Amazonite. Apparently Hazy was a Light Representative, and Amazonite was traveling back to his home clan along with him. They both invited Salamander to come with, and so she agreed. That was how she found her future clan and met her future wife.

Salamander is most definitely the warrior type of Guardian. She fights fiercely using her reinforced talons, and will sometimes wield a cutlass in her jaws or with her tail. Her unpredictable style is reminiscent of wild animals and insane dragons, a combo that is hard to predict and fight back against. Salamander is also super gigantic, which makes her even more formidable. Watch out for her, she can crush Fae beneath her feet and deal serious damage to other smaller breeds. She's working on underfoot awareness, but with her head being so far off the ground, it's always a struggle.

Despite her terrifying figure, the towering Guardian isn’t entirely muscle. She has a keen eye for strategy and is apprenticed to Clatterhan, learning the art of battle choreography from the talented Spiral. Although Skyreach is a peaceful place, Salamander acts as its official War Representative and will often attend meetings with allied clans in order to discuss current deals and possible threats. She receives counseling from her wife to help her deal with her hot temper, and she actively seeks out new and creative ways To grow as a dragon.
