C L O U D S T R I F E
 The strength of many overshadows the strength of one, as a young dragon this is what Cloudstrife knew to be true and what was ingrained in his head at an extremely young age. The clan he grew up in didn’t have much in the way of a name. It was simply a clan of elite warriors, warriors so strong none could stand against them. However their strengths were all equal, there were none in the group stronger than any of the others. Those that were, were disposed of and sent on their way as fast and as clean as possible, so as not to provoke the others into rebellion. However Cloudstrife knew, deep inside his soul, the very truth of this clan but he wouldn’t voice it or speak of it to anyone. His curiosity rose and he started going off alone, testing out his skill and becoming stronger than all the rest, his elite skills and keen mind forcing him to get stronger, go farther, and come greater. Something told him his clan was not what it seemed to be and he soon discovered just how right he was. He had been out practicing and honing his skills when a strange sound had alerted him. Banking left from his spot in the sky, he flew downward to a scene of horror. One of the new hatchlings, a small imperial, was being beaten and abused by some of the other clan members. It was then that he knew what became of those dragons that weren’t strong enough, they weren’t sent away, they were beaten into submission and then, most likely, thrown away like garbage. Cloudstrife wouldn’t stand for such a thing and he flew down, easily knocking down the warriors and allowed the hatchling to fly away, hopefully to safety in a new clan. Flying back to the clan, he confronted the leaders and listened while they spun their lies and smirked at him like he was no more than a petty urchin. With a snarl he knocked them down along with those who agreed with the leaders. His rebellion allowed for those in the clan to fly to safety, yet some stayed who were too brainwashed to possibly believe Cloudstrife to be correct. Now that he knew the truth of the clan, it was time for him to make his way to greener pastures and that’s how he found his clan. They easily accepted him for his skills in battle and very quickly he took on the highest rank in the clan, preferring to use his skillset to train up hatchlings so that they too would know how to protect themselves and the clan as a whole. Some days he misses his old clan but looking back on it, he wouldn’t dream of being an arrogant dragon once again because he finally discovered that the strength of one is the strength of many when you use that strength to defend your friends and those you care about |
