Miasma Crystal » Mrithi is a very selfless dragon aside from his obsessive protection of this strange orb. It is in his grasp at all times and never leaves his side or sight. It is always within his reach, often fiddling with its flaking, pearlescent layers, or gazing into its mystical center.

Giant Red Phantom Jelly

Strong silent type
King's son, many considered too quiet
Wants everyone to know someone cares about them
Speaks in rhymes

orb keeps him from being able to return to the surface, in return for clear insight of those around him, like a king who knows what his people need?

Mrithi is Swahili for heir

Will guide you through the darkness

Mrithi What is that strange orb you guard and why do you guard it?
59600789p.png "This orb is my livelihood, my dreams, my hopes and fears. If it weren't in my grasp for a even moment, I'm not sure what might appear." Mrithi rolled the orb from his tail's grasp, along his delicate billowing frills, and down his arm into his claws. His breaths blew bubbles around the orb and its deep, glass sides wobbled the bubbles' reflection in a warped, funny way.

Bubbling. So much bubbling. Desperate exhales pleading for help, with no one responding, for he was silent under this water. These were gasps that escaped this mysterious' guardians maul as he sank into the deep, ocean abyss, his blue eyes helplessly fixated on the dwindling light of the sky above.

How did he get to this point? What had he done to peeve those of the Gods? He did not know; what he did know was that he was in danger. The jaws of the ocean had opened to him, welcoming him in open, hungering arms.

"Get stronger!" A voice from above howled. At first, he thought it was a God hearing his crying thoughts. He soon realized it was the argument ensuing above him; his clanmates, or old ones now, were amidst an argument about the guardian's apparent weakness. Of course, they were discussing this right after throwing the Guardian into the water in an attempt to train him.

He never did fit in with the lot; considering they paid no mind when he didn't resurface.

The guardian shook his head, closing his eyes as he tried to drown out the noise of water filling his ears, mouth, and nostrils. He would soon be meant by a darkness, one that blanketed him in cold as he slipped into unconsciousness.

This guardian would not awake for many hours, but when he did, he was still at the bottom of the ocean. His eyes slowly opened, glancing around his surroundings. They were blurry, but what he could make out was the fascinating shape of a creature, with a red body and long, gray arms following it. A jellyfish.

He was too fixated on admiring this creature to realize that the heavy feeling of water that once sunk this guardian's lungs was no longer present. He could seemingly breathe with ease, and his body had begun to mock that of the Jellyfish. He was adapting, and rapidly.

"What strength has been bestowed about me,
that I have no right to wield?

Perhaps the gods feel bad for thee,
or perhaps they found it funny when I keeled.

Now I am a refugee,
stuck at the bottom of the ocean, a new fate revealed."

He whispered to himself, a sigh of appreciation escaping him. He felt he had an obligation to protect the deep, for it had embraced him with cold, icy love, and saved what little of a life he had left.

Mrithi knows what it's like to feel like you're not enough. He knows what it's like to not be enough, too, but has learned by know that there are some dragons for which everything will never be enough. And as he sank into the chilling depths, he learned to accept it.

The deep welcomed him, and he loves it in turn.

Not all those who live in the Trench came there willingly - Mrithi is an example of such - but he tries to ensure all that find themselves in its dark embrace are met with love. He may not be the one to find them, but he tries to make sure he's there to welcome them when they awaken, to calm them and explain where they are. During harsh storms that may lead to someone getting pulled into the deep, Mrithi patrols, always keeping an eye out for someone who may need his help in one way or another. He tries to return them to the surface if he can, but if they are too far gone to safely returns, then he protects them until they wake.

He takes his role as heir to the Leviathan Trench very seriously; he does his best to memorize the names of all of its residents, and tries to form at least a positive acquaintanceship with them as well. He acts with the good of the Trench in mind, helping to form alliances with topside clans to secure resources and is always willing to lend his mind or might to politics or construction as he is needed. The day is far off, but he hopes to make a good king for his people.

In the deep below the sea
Things grow big and strange

In the deep dark, there is only strange light
Little movement, bloops and flashes, and life without sight

A guide you'll require, maybe two
So that you don't get lost, or found anew

Some say the darkness took the grieving and wretched
and pulled them down to a place far more dreaded

But despite this collection of painful tales
A community of bizarre affinity was unveiled

Some lives blissfully and thankfully lost in the silt,
Willing to make a new life, or something of that ilk

A white plane in sparseness, that few foresaw
An end to the darkness that rests only in one's own claws

The deep below the sea

It is said that the deepest dragon clans that dared to settle within the Leviathan Trench did so within the safety of the cliff faces that overlook this tartarian scape, but this is not the case. Unbeknownst to most, there exist immaculate ruins and distant expanses of pale, seemingly barren sea floor that reside on this very underpinning, and there are dragons that make their homes here. Pale, introverted, and adapted to this highly specialized macroenvironment. Deep sea dwellers that don't dare surface, and rarely receive visitors due to the immense pressure, low temperature, and lack of sunlight and food that touch the landscape.

The White Expanse-
A distinct direction is hard to tell in the twilight that envelops the area, but it appears to stretch in all directions as one passes through the Leviathan Trench and makes it to the bottom of the sea. Those familiar with the area must have a good sense of direction in order to find their way around, less they get lost as they wander along the near spectless desert that lies at the bottom of the ocean and covers most of its expanse. Scavengers and hunters lie and drift in wait for prey falling from above in the open ocean.

The Living Walls-
Technically a single structure, the earthen walls separated by their respective elemental areas, stretch around the entirety of the Sea of A Thousand Currents. The separate tectonic plates that the elemental areas reside on are ever shifting, though only slightly. The changes in their movement are first seen here, closest to the base of the wall, save for some ravines and reservoirs that occasionally crack open and lead even deeper into the earth. Cataclysmic events also change the landscape of the walls, shifting their prehistoric layers and adjusting the life that clings to all of its niches and cracks. These events are likely prompted by the volcanic activity of the nearby Ashfall Waste, leading to a near constant change of scenery as the walls shift, crack, and crumble, revealing unseen layers of history, and forcing its residents to adapt on it face.
Because of the wall and its proximity to the Scarred Wasteland, life at this depth has been given a stirring opportunity to cling to its steep rough sides. While some areas remain bare and cold, others flourish in the dark. Uncatalogued genera of flora and fauna evolved to live in this biome and this biome only. They cover much of the walls and the sea floor near them. This bizarre ecosystem has allowed for a plethora of bottom feeders, scavengers, tubers, corals, anemones, and other frilled flora-like animals to thrive. The unique activity in this sphere even attracts organisms from far and wide to interact with these fantastical specialized creatures.

The Thermal Vents-
Tunnels here are said to lead out to sea and everywhere else, but are impossible to map since they are so small and hard to navigate. No one knows where they lead, if anywhere in some cases. The thermal vents that cause these subways to open, express dreadfully toxic contaminants from deep within the earth making it deadly even for the most adventurous of creatures. However, certain animals have again adapted to the toxins and extreme heat expelled by the vents. Mollusks and feathered creatures waiting for prey, and hard-shelled isopods and crustaceans scavenge around making their home in these desperate areas.

Oceanbed Dreadnaught-
Possibly the largest dragon-made structure known to all-kind. The Dreadnaught is an immense metal seafaring structure that has apparently been hidden from written history. Even modern sea boats are not made from metal, but this vessel is made entirely of it, though what kind it is hard to tell. Its general structure still stands: A deep hull and long deck as well as intertwining, inner workings and corridors throughout the ship. What looks to be an immense metal dorsal fin stretching out behind it, its navigation light at the tip of the fin continues to blink in the darkness. Presumably hundreds of years of corrosion has lifted any marks or symbols that may have identified the ship or who it once belonged to. Smaller metal sunken ships dot the seabed around the area, holes blown through them and some ripped to shreds by something from the past--Still none compare to the astronomically sized Dreadnaught.
Dragons and other deep sea life have made homes throughout the ship graveyard, allowing the closest thing to a community that can can be formed in such darkness, to take shape.

Dragons living on the seafloor, especially those who have made it their home for generations, tend to have mutations synonymous with lightless, aquatic living. Most dragons have developed slimmer or flatter bodies and tails, or extra frills or fins. Due to the low light, most are warm blooded and their bodies tend to lack pigment--or in contrast--have very dark skin or scales that help them to blend in. Bioluminescence is common in many forms and has many uses, like hunting and communication. Breeds that normally possessed fur, here likely lack any hair at all, and their bodies are slightly softer and more flexible or gelatinous due to the high underwater pressure, which makes it especially difficult to return to the surface without magical aid (and vice versa).

Most dragons remain unclothed. Some still wear armor or carry small weapons, equipments, tools or satchels, but most fabrics like silk and leather can't handle being constantly submerged unless they have been magically treated.
