"What do you see?"
The question was one that Moira received countless times when his odd eyed stare was misconstrued to be one of absent-mindedness. Truthfully, he would drift his gaze elsewhere, fixed on the speaker but looking past them as if they were not there at all. It bothered some and frustrated others, but what could be done about it?
He could see what they could not; spirits. Suggested in jest, no one took second sight in hatchlings seriously, but it was understood that the young were more susceptible to otherworldly influences than most. Something about young souls not being fully tethered. Those long departed from the physical realm often did not like attention drawn to their spiritual manifestations. Luckily for them, Moira was never the chatty type.
When they did catch his eye, occasionally they would linger - surprised that they could be seen at all. Others would shake their head, as if to say "no, do not look at me". Little good would it do when caught up in that odd-eyed stare.
