Can’t you hear me? I speak in shreds of silence, listening to the world speak for me. Whispers follow my quiet footsteps, but they are not mine. Do I exist? Do they watch me walk without a breath leaving from my pale lips, and wonder; what made me this way? I try to tell them what I know, what I witnessed. Can’t you see it? The scar across my ever so gentle face, ripping through to its own memories. Is it trying to erase itself? Why would it stay and linger if it had no meaning? What does it mean to be alive, should I be thankful? It never happened they say, you’re a fool to think such a thing. They don’t listen.
