Personality
Aquila, like many of the Arcanist's disciples, prizes intelligence, curiosity, and innovation. Aquila can come off as cold and standoffish, but really, they're just socially awkward. Aquilla is highly intelligent and driven. They have been described by many as stubborn, not knowing when to quit.

Early Years
Wildclaw society does not value intelligence or magic. Aquila's birth clan was a nomadic one. Her parents hailed from the Wandering Contagion, as did most of the clan. When Aquila's birth occurred, the clan was in the lands of the Arcanist. Aquila grew up with magic, something most of their clan members did not understand. As far as physical ability went, Aquila was about average for a Wildclaw, and their tendency to use magic when their fighting skill was not enough did not go over well with the clan.

When Aquila became an adult, they left their clan, the clan that had never fully accepted them, to return to the place that pulled at their very soul: the Starfall Isles. Aquila had both curiosity and the drive to fulfill that desire for knowledge. Aquila studied at the Tourmaline Archives, where they discovered a prodigious natural talent in inventing and enchanting objects. One of their tutors suggested that they might be good enough to become an Artificer. Aquila had discovered their true passion, and they were determined to achieve it.

It was around this point that they met Alden. Alden was studying to be a Potions Master with the same zeal Aquila had for studying to become an Artificer. They fell in love over all-nighters at the Tourmaline Archives, with the only light coming from the candles at the table the two shared.

Aquila had recently acquired their Artificer certification when one of their projects caught the eye of someone rather important. Astrophel, the head of the Icarus Foundation, a prominent Research & Development company behind many recent technological developments. They were one of the few places to employ Artificers. Astrophel wanted both Aquila and Alden to join the Icarus Foundation. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. What could they say, but yes?

Current
The Icarus Foundation's main location is a sprawling research facility built directly into the cliffside of the Focal Point. Aquila and Alden have shared a den in the employee housing section for a few years now, but something here isn't right. Something is very, very wrong. Astrophel is not what he seems to be, and no one here is safe.

The last time Aquila was in the lab after dark, they heard screaming coming from the floor vent. Alden comes back to their quarters later and later. He's shaking and haunted every night, yet every time he tries to tell them what's going on, he starts choking and can't get a word out. Aquila is beginning to be suspicious that something truly terrible is going on here, and Aquila intends to find out what.

Job Description
Aquila invents new technologies and creates powerful enchanted items. They spend most of their time enchanting armor for the Icarus Foundation's contracts with the Arcanist to produce gear for the exalted soldiers.
