Biography
Shadewood
• Grymn's protector
xxxTheme song: none yet
Battle theme: insert song here
Once he must’ve been someone of status- someone who acted like regular dragons do. Sadly, in Cinderclan he is known as the savage beast protecting Grymn. The tiny coatl is the only one who can get close to the guardian without putting themselves in danger, and has quietly been dubbed ‘Shadewood’s keeper’.
Quite a few years ago, however, Shadewood was a normal, if not quite stubborn guardian, who ignored the call of the search in favor of protecting his clan. He crushed the need to leave in favor to help the dragons who had raised him ever since he was hatched. Sometimes the guilt of leaving his charge without protector was enough to cripple the guardian, though he never showed it in public.
It could be argued that his charge coming to him was good, but it really wasn’t.
Not when it was Grymn.
His former clan began noticing changes. Shadewood seemed more irritable, the more time he spend with his charge, anapping at others and growing more and more paranoid.
It all came to a boiling point when one of the other hatchlings had a play fight with Grymn, and Shadewood mistook it as agression towards the tiny pale coatl.
The good news: the hatchling lived.
The bad news: he only barely did.
After that, the clan was quick to try and kick Shadewood out, but when the guardian seemed genuinly confused as to what happened, dragons began to question what was going on. For years the guardian had been a valiant protector, a symbol of hope and heroism. Something MADE the guardian snap.
Which is when dragons began pointing fingers at Grymn, who didn’t seem too bothered by what happened, even looking mildly amused at the anger the dragons felt towards him.
It only took one dragon, roughly grabbing the coatl to throw him out, for Shadewood to snap again, though this time, in his savage rage, he made sure there was no one who’d be a danger to his charge again.
Ever since that day, Shadewood no longer thinks as a dragon- living on a combination of instinct and rage, a need to rip and tear into others, to hunt and protect his charge.
No one can tell his behavior apart from that of a wild animal.
