LIKES:

▸ Doing magic: Amethyst could spend hours doing magic and never get bored. She loves experimenting. Coming up with hybrid plants, finding new ways to make plants grow, and seeing how long it takes to grow a redwood before she becomes exhausted.
▸ Flying: Amethyst loves the feeling of freedom that comes with flying.
▸ Hanging with friends: Amethyst loves her clanmates as if they were her own family, which some of the are.
▸ Being creative: One of Amethyst's favorite things to do is to be creative. She loves daydreaming about different outfits, drawing and sketching dragons, and singing songs from all over the world.

BACKSTORY
No one really knows where Amethyst came from. She was told that she was born in the heart of a strange magic flower. Because of the flower's color, her purple wings, her deep shadow eyes, and the fact that she was born in February, her finders decided to name her Amethyst. She was raised in the Starwood Strand with a bunch of other wild fae, but she'd seen the dragons passing by their tree and wondered what it would be like to live in a clan with "huger dragons" than just the other fae she always saw. She also had unusual powers that the flower had given her. Despite being shadow, she had strange control over plants, and could grow and even create them using only her mind. Soon she learned that she could make plants live longer, making flowers that had been picked continue to bloom for longer periods of time. Most of the faes found it terrifying that a dragonet could perform such advanced magic; that is, all except Acorn, who had also been found as a small hatchling and didn't have parents. He was the only one in the whole clan who wasn't nervous around her, and who shared her dream of seeing the world. He was her only friend in the whole clan, and eventually friendship turned into something else.
Eventually Amethyst came up with a plan. She would leave her home and start a clan, all by herself. She would wear apparel and celebrate the festivals and worship the deities and meet all sorts of different dragons. She'd adopt unwanted hatchlings as her own, and give them a new life. She'd wanted a parental figure her whole life, and she thought other dragons deserved that, too. She kind of wanted to live in the Viridian Labyrinth at first, or even the Sea of a Thousand Currents, but the sun would hurt her eyes and she would always feel hot, so she decided to live in the Tangled Wood. Besides, she was born in February, and that was the month that the Shadow flight was always represented.
One night, however, Acorn noticed her sketching hatchlings in her favorite notebook and asked what she was doing. Acorn was the only dragon she'd ever trusted, so she told him her plan. He thought it was a great idea, and decided they should leave as soon as possible because he didn't want her to have to wait. That night, they ran away together to the Tangled Wood to see the Shadowbinder and request land. She agreed, and they found themselves a small island of the coast of the Wispwillow Grove that was perfect for them.

DISLIKES:

▸ Being called "tiny": Amethyst knows she's a fae, one of the smallest dragon species, but she absolutely hates it when dragons remind her of that.
▸ Cloudy days and nights: Amethyst doesn't mind rain, in fact, she loves it. But when a day is cloudy and cold but without rain, it makes everything seem dreary.
▸ Being blamed for something she didn't do: Back in the Starwood Strand, Amethyst would be blamed all too often for things she didn't ever do. Faes would often blame her for plant infestations or evil weeds that were choking their tree, and she would be blamed just because she had plant magic. This happens a lot less in the clan, but whenever it does Amethyst is often not too pleased.

_LIFE IN THE CLAN_

____The first few days of owning a clan were not easy, but they were exciting. Amethyst and Acorn cleaned out the caves, made more space, and dreamed about what their clan would grow into. At first, there was only a small cave for them to share. Once they were satisfied, they decided to have their very own hatchlings. Amethyst stayed behind to look after their three first eggs while Acorn searched around for a few dragonets who needed homes. After a few days he came back with a wriggling imperial on his back and a small shivering fae in his claws. Soon their eggs hatched, and Amethyst had never been more proud. She named the firstborn Lagoon, because she reminded her of shallow, clear water. The second was named Deepwood, because she was shy and looked like she belonged in the woods on the mainland. The third was named Mercy, after a character in a book Amethyst had bought from a few traders once. Amethyst loved her daughters more than anything, and loved her adopted children the same way. The clan grew bigger and stronger with help from Amethyst, their kind leader.
____Nowadays the clan runs fairly smoothly. It's not hard to get important things and the clan has made several alliances with different clans from all over Sorienth. Amethyst has been able to see the world and trade for goods everywhere. She loves flitting about the clan, making sure there are no problems and that everyone is feeling happy. She wouldn't give any of it up for the world.

_PERSONALITY_

____Amethyst is very bossy. Sometimes dragons will complain that she is too bossy. This is one reason she loves being leader. Back in the Starwood Strand, things were never fair for her and she was always found herself complaining about it. Now, she can make everything fair for everyone. She is also very stubborn. If she thinks something is right she will try to do everything she can to prove it is, and the same if she thinks something is wrong. She can also be rude to her friends when she tries to tease them. Often she doesn't know she's doing it, and when someone points it out afterward she always feels very bad. However, if someone was being rude or annoying she doesn't mind at all if their feelings are hurt.
____However, her intentions are usually good and at heart she is just trying to do what's best for her clan and her friends in other clans. She is very intelligent and loves having riddle contests with her friends. She is also very optimistic and always tries to hope for the best, but plan for the worst. Like the gemstone she is named after, she has a calm and somber nature, and whenever chaos breaks out she always tries to calm everyone down with a soft tone. She really enjoys doing creative things like crafts (she has a very steady paw), drawing (mostly fantasy creatures and apparel ideas), reading (especially fantasy books, she could spend hours reading old text and never get bored), and singing (she is incredibly good at singing, possibly the best dragon in the clan, but she is very modest about it).
