ABOUT xxx ❝Why should I be afraid to get my claws dirty?❞

Born to a proud clan of Pearlcatchers in the Emberglow Hearth, Blaze was always a bit of a wild child. While most Pearlcatchers are natural-born mages and casters, Blaze always preferred tearing things to shreds, instead. Most regarded him with indifference, but he was a valuable asset to the clan, the brawn among the brains. Unfortunately, he soon learned why Pearlcatchers prefer to keep their distance in battle, as in the midst of an intense battle, his pearl was shattered. Thrown into a fit of rage, Blaze began to tear his enemies to shreds without any remorse, mind clouded with emotion. After the fight was done, he stood there for a long moment, staring at his own blood-stained talons, then at the fragments of his pearl. Mild disdain turned to scorn, and Blaze was swiftly exiled. Blaze wanted to claw them to shreds, but he knew it wouldn't do anything, so he simply went off in search of a new clan. A new home. He encountered a young yet imposing Banescale while leaving the Ashfall Wastes. The Banescale asked why Blaze didn't have his pearl, and Blaze snapped at him. The Banescale paused, then chuckled, saying he hadn't expected such attitude from a Pearlcatcher of all dragons. Blaze was mildly offended but tried to take it in stride. The Banescale introduced himself as Inferno, a lone traveler looking for his place in the world. Blaze paused and begrudgingly confessed that he was doing the same. Despite their differences at the start, they soon bonded and became traveling companions. Even when they left their fiery home, Blaze had Inferno's blazing scales to keep him warm.

Inferno had been searching for some way to help Blaze feel even the tiniest bit better about his lost pearl and convinced Blaze to join him on a journey to Dragonhome. Once at the home of the earth flight, he managed to find someone to make Blaze a synthetic pearl out of cut and polished stone. The only time he'd ever seen Blaze cry was when he gave him the faux pearl. Sometimes when Blaze looks at the pearl, he still feels a sting, the knowledge that he'll never be able to reclaim his true pearl making him feel incomplete. Yet, sometimes, when he holds his marble pearl in his claws, he feels complete, he feels...normal. The duo of fiery adventurers soon found their way to the camp of the Stormspirits, hearing of a clan accepting all sorts of dragons, although Blaze knew not to get his hopes up. Despite all his doubts, he quickly became friends with the leader of the clan, Ningal, and the two would often spar and train together. Ningal encouraged his wild nature, telling him that around here, being unique was the only way to be. Blaze is now a renowned fighter within the clan, and will sometimes worry Inferno half to death with his reckless nature. After all they've been through together, Blaze and Inferno are practically inseparable. Blaze doesn't like to admit it, but the gratitude he feels for the dragons around him is infinite. Sometimes it still stings, the loss of his pearl feeling like an ache in his heart that will never go away, but then he looks around, and the ache seems to dull into nothing. What's happened has happened and he simply has to live with it. He has a good life, good friends, and a good mate, losing his pearl doesn't change that. He's still a bit of a spitfire, but he's found solace in his situation, and knows that he's not any less of a dragon because of it, and if he thinks any differently? Well, Inferno will be right there to tell him just how wrong he is...
