Biography

Bozatrox
Arcane Mender
Neutral Good

PkKAmaj.png
While Brizo deals with the more... normal injuries and diseases, Bozatrox tends maladies of a more magical sort. If you've grown extra limbs, or are vomiting up slugs every time you try to speak, this is the dragon you want to see.

However, she really hasn't practised the more mundane methods of healing. Generally, this doesn't cause a problem, but non-arcane dragons aren't always that trusting of such magic, and sometimes there's a far easier solution than her spells. Bozatrox is easily impressed by anyone who can make medicine out of mundane ingredients.

She's also one of the kindest dragons in the clan, with a patience nearly capable of dealing with the clan's never-ending chaos. On the rare occasions that the she does snap, survivors have reported that it's absolutely terrifying.

As a snapper, she never has to sleep. She needs the extra waking hours this gives her, because as any arcane dragon knows, 3 AM is the best time for unsafe experimentation. Thus there is almost always someone in need of medical attention. As a testament to her patience, Bozatrox has never been the reason dragons have needed healing. She has been the reason clearly dangerous experiments have been unceremoniously disposed of, but they deserved that.

An avid believer in prevention being the best cure, Bozatrox often lobbies for increased safety precautions within the lair. Silas supports her in this endeavour, but much of the clan believes that it isn't science if somebody doesn't lose at least a few scales, so she's had little luck so far.

Her efforts haven't been entirely fruitless. Together, she and the clan leader have managed to create a system where dragons at least let someone else know what they're doing before performing experimental magic. Admittedly, many clan members often forget, but as long as they report in afterwards it's fine. Having a half-exploded dragon come to you is much better than stumbling upon a half-exploded dragon a few days later. As they say, admitting you have a problem is the first step to solving it. You might not think that having one leg missing and the other one on fire is a problem that it'd be difficult to admit to having, but apparently it is.

Simoeis works as her assistant during the midnight hours, for the robot is similarly sleepless. Bozatrox is grateful for the helpful claws, especially since she lacks dexterous ones of her own. And while Simeosis had no medical knowledge in the beginning, with Bozatrox's patient tutelage she has become quite skilled in her own right. It only took a couple of dragons who were nearly poisoned instead of being given a cure, and one who ended up significantly more electrocuted than was needed to resuscitate them.

(While Bozatrox doesn't want to admit it, she's secretly quite relieved that if anything was to happen to Simoeis while the guardian was assisting her, for once she wouldn't be the one who would have to try to heal her.)

In her spare time, she crafts jewellery out of a strange blue crystal found in the depths of the fortress. While it's unknown exactly what mineral said crystal is, it appears to have energizing and minor restorative properties. Strangely, the crystal is the same stuff that Silas' pendant is made from, even though Bozatrox had no part in its creation.

...footsteps echoed down the empty hallway, as she followed the same routine she'd taken for over a month. Down here, the chill in the air seemed unnatural - greater than the proximity to the ocean should have caused.

The snapper turned left, taking a shortcut through one of the smaller side passages. The bag slung over her shoulder scraped across the cold stone walls, releasing faint pink sparks as residual magic in the walls flared to life. Bozatrox didn't stop for a second, knowing from experience that the food inside the satchel wouldn't be damaged.

As she closed in on her destination, the healer slowed her pace. Apprehension clear in her eyes, she pushed open the door to the cell in front of her, knowing full well what was inside.

Across the otherwise empty room a white creature laid on the floor, its feathers covered in dirt from the month it had spent in the dungeon. The shape of its head revealed it to be a skydancer, clearly alive but in poor condition. Chains attached the dragon's wrists and ankles to the cell wall, and the unnatural chill brought frost to where the metal touched the poor creature's limbs.

Bozatrox unslung the bag's strap from around her neck, and carefully approached the dragon. Clearly not as asleep as it had appeared, the skydancer raised its head, and both a growl and and eerie black mist left its mouth. Despite the clear shade presence, the skydancer's eyes remained a bright blue - although they didn't appear to actually see anything they looked at.

The dragon's condition making her feel sick to her stomach, Bozatrox shoved the bag of food across the floor and hurriedly left the room. While the chains had held so far, she wasn't convinced that they were beyond the shade-touched dragon's strength.

Trudging back towards the surface, the healer thought about the claims of the clan's mages, who believed they'd be able to find a way to cure the strange dragon. But after a month of watching the skydancer suffer, Bozatrox wasn't convinced. Maybe it was time to put the poor dragon out of its misery...
