Biography
Progress Report of Lieutenant Vune, daughter of Raegar and Shanna, and to the Mother
There were many brought into the Boneyard to infiltrate its ranks and discover the source of its power; Ambassador Rot chief among us. However, Ambassador Rot underestimated the Boneyard. Blinded by her loathing prejudice of the Gladekeeper, she thought the Boneyard Curse as little more than that-- a Curse. But I see now it is so much more than that.
The plan was to find it, study it, and then replicate it across all the elemental flights. A power like the one here in the Boneyard is something that could truly turn the tide among us. The too-long cease-fire would finally be over and then we could get back to killing each other like we ought to be. Judda, the clan's founder, was hesitant to even let us in, but eventually he obliged. Ambassador Rot of course dismissed his hospitality as some sort of weakness, but now I wonder if that little fae knew what would happen to us...
As the clan's numbers grow, I see more and more that this place is not something that can be controlled. Moreso, I know now that it isn't even something Plaguelings like ourselves can even replicate, for the Curse's origin is of Ice. I know not what the Icewarden's stake is in this, if there is one at all. But every single journey I make to scout the innermost parts of the Boneyard are met with failure after failure, and each new attempt strips me of more and more of my flesh. The curse is strongest there, obviously, but upon questioning those in the labyrinthine Gloom have warned me that only Ice dragons may actually enter.
Thus, the Curse must be Ice-based.
It's frustrating, but informing Ambassador Rot of these failures was likely a mistake.
She doesn't believe there is any sort of magic -or curse- that we as Her children cannot overcome. So blinded by patriotism, she doesn't even acknowledge that the Curse has bitten into her, claiming that her new flowers and bones are "decorations". She was a terribly person always, but never like this. Perhaps the Curse is eating away at her mind as well. If so, I question her ability to lead us. Even with the new information that the Curse is Ice magic, she refuses to abide by it and has us continue things as we've been doing for... months. Maybe. Time is a stranger here; the days blur together and there are no other seasons save for autumn.
Regardless, Ambassador Rot is quickly proving she is no longer fit to lead, if she ever were. She rejects the Curse and wills herself to fight it and dominate it. I, on the other hand, embrace it. Even as a Plagueling, I feel my own power ripening with this acceptance. There are few who show resistance, even less that show immunity. However, I do still believe that this power can be used to our advantage, despite Ambassador Rot's decline.
I will report with more information soon.
