Unwillingly brought back to life as a wright, cradled in the arms of her dear sister. Striga cried, tears of mourning and joy for her- at her creation, her blessing, her curse. Nerys had little memory of what had happened before, only fractures of a troubled past. Even so she recognized the sorcerer. But she bore no love for her. Her eyes scanned the surroundings in a sheepish state. Almost unfeeling. One by one her senses came back to her, and with it a deep fury boiled up within her. "It worked, it worked." Her sister sobbed. "Nerys-" Her mind became foggy, as if her body weren't her own. One moment she was being held, and the next her clawed hand pinned her sister's throat onto the stone. Striga yelped in surprise and a panicked struggle ensued, Striga pushing back on her shoulders until the shadows around them writhed around her arms and tore Nerys back. Her sister gasped for breath and rushed back to her feet. "What did you do to me?" Nerys shouted, tearing at the darkness. Lashing out. "What have you done?" "Just listen to me-" Striga breathed, her eyes wide with hope, or mania. "I figured it out, Nerys. I brought you back to life." Laughter bubbled up in her chest. Cold and delirious. "I brought you back." |
