Biography

BECIAS

____________________________

Glyn suffers from a horrible curse: magic plantlife grows from his skin, from under his skin, forming patches of bark and wood that will eventually replace his flesh and consume him. At least, it would do so if not for the help of Leila's magic: she's promised to help him, to study his curse and find a cure. Except, unbeknownst to Glyn, Leila is more interested in using the nature magic tormenting him to make new little sprouts than in ending it ... Hatchlings with Opal carry Glyn's curse, while those with Glimmer have somehow escaped it.

At first glance, Becias appears beautiful and inviting, with a welcoming smile that encourages others to approach them. But appearances can be deceiving, and those who encounter Becias would do well to recall that nature uses bright colors to warn of poison. For beneath Becias' pleasant exterior lies a heart of stone. They feel kinship only with plants; animals and dragons they considered an annoyance at best and prey at worst. Glyn's curse left Becias with roots that need fertile compost to feed on -- and there's just so many nutrients in rotting flesh, wherever it comes from. (Lukra)
Every lair has one, from the most elegant Sunbeam cathedrals to the damp, cramped hovels of the Murkbarrow Close. Everything ends up in the midden eventually, from rotting meat to broken plates, coal dust and offal cuts. In the grim alley behind the lair, a haphazard hole holds the rotting waste of the Dusk Clan, steadily decomposing into a putrid, stinking mulch. While most dragons avoid middens like the plague, the winding roots of a strange, disjointed creature pulse through the muck, sucking nutrients from foul waste. Whether they are a dragon or a corpse driven by the parasitic consciousness of a plant, nobody can tell; they only know Becias never eats, never speaks, and never leaves the midden.
