Conflicted, eager, optimistic

Mistral was among the hundred-thousand Banescale survivors that emerged from the Blacksand Annex. After centuries of stasis, he hatched into a strange chamber filled with the echoes of a haunting song and the excited babbling of fellow hatchlings. He sang along with them to the best of his ability, committing it to memory. As wondrous as the experience was, he soon grew hungry and followed the other hatchlings on their maiden flight to Sornieth's mainland. They were discovered by the native Coatl and adopted into their ranks.

He loved living among these strange, feathery singers, adding to his song repertoire, but his Wind element cursed him with curiosity. The Coatls' many questions about the Banescale species made him incredibly restless, and he wanted to find out what exactly he was. He was informed that the Starfall Isles or Sunbeam Ruins would have scholars and researchers that might know, and so he took flight to the northwest to visit the former, eager to find answers.

It took some searching, but the Empyreal took him in for exhaustive study. They were fascinated by his songs, especially the dirge he learned at birth. Eventually, the ancient war between the Gaolers and Banescales was uncovered from Gaoler records, and he could finally learn the truth.

Mistral's friendly and open-minded, but this revelation has chilled his relations with Gaolers. It's affected him, knowing that his birth parents have been dead and forgotten for centuries. Now he must learn how to live with the truths he's found.
