Isira's uncontrollable surrogate daughter, who was found flying over the Sea of a Thousand Currents and was rescued.

The young Banescale didn’t recall much about the flock she had been with before her mother found her. If she thought hard, she could recall others who looked like her, of bright colors and special songs. She knew that she wasn’t missed by them, the whole flock had been traveling to a new location, new breeding locations and possibly joining new clans, and one hatchling falling behind wasn’t unheard of. She heard stories, from other dragons passing through her new clan, of Banescale hatchlings being found in the same way she was, lost in bad weather and the flock never noticing. If she thought too hard about that, it would upset her, and Kirara loved her new life too much to spend it upset about her past.

A true wild child, Kirara could often be found flitting about the clan, getting into as much trouble as she could manage. Isira would scold her at times, especially if she did something to put herself in danger, but none of the scoldings or small punishments would ever make much of an impact. She would be appropriately sorry, of course, apologizing for worrying her mother and promising that it would never happen again. It wasn’t a promise she was able to keep, however, and before long she would be back to causing trouble again. A wild child through and through, she would learn from each misadventure and generally find a new way to cause trouble in the end.

Unlike her adoptive mother, Kirara was a Lightning dragon. She obviously couldn’t tell the others in the clan if her former flock had been Lightning dragons, or even where she hatched at, but Isira had a different theory. The Tundra speculated that, when the hatchling had been struck by lightning and later Hakim had brought her back to life with his Lightning magic, that had been what sealed the little one’s elemental power. It was a theory she kept to herself, as she wasn’t inclined to share such things even now. Even Kirara didn’t know of her mother’s speculations, although she promised herself that she would tell Kirara one day.

→ Kirara is known to be one of the best lightning conducting dragons despite her childish nature.

xxxxxxxShe picked upwind and spread her wings. She always thought of herself as a good flyer. She was better than Taliha, better than Maeve and Cali too. Priti looked up to her flying skills.

xxxxxxxRight now, however, she wasn't so sure of her skills anymore. Ahead of her Hakim watched the two pearlcatchers dancing on the clouds. They had been flying for hours over the waves. The breeze was salty and refreshing, and the clouds were white and fluffy. It was a perfect day altogether, the ideal scenario for Kirara to prove herself.

xxxxxxxYet, here she was, once more struggling to keep up with the flight as they soared above the waves of the sea. She did not want to let her frustrations from her past show but sighed in relief when they reached a rock formation spiking out of the water.

xxxxxxxShe clung to a rock and took a deep breath, gasping, panting. When Hakim approached, however, she put up a bravado.

xxxxxxx– Why did we stop?! – She asked with a defiant smile.

xxxxxxxHer wildclaw elder just smiled back at her and ruffled the top of her head with his wing.

xxxxxxx– It's now another ten miles until the next rocks right above maren territory. Are you sure you don't want to wait here?
xxxxxxx– No! I want to go! I want to see!
xxxxxxx– It's just a simple negotiation. – He laughed at her enthusiasm.
xxxxxxx– Uncle Kim, please, please, please! I want to fly closer to them this time. – She said quietly looking at Hakim's companions. – They're such good flyers! Is that okay?

xxxxxxxHe sighed. That was the third time Kirara insisted on this during the journey.

xxxxxxxHe looked at the two pearlcatchers coming with him today. They were stretching and drinking water before continuing the journey. Kirara thought the two were very cool. She had no idea how wild Tila and Connor were. It was a matter of time before they started teasing each other with their magic. Hakim wasn't sure he wanted Kirara to get caught up in the middle of it.

xxxxxxxAlas, he believed some lessons we must learn by ourselves.

xxxxxxx– Very well. – He said. – Just be careful. Tila and Connor are masters of their elements, master flyers, and we're out in the open.

xxxxxxxFor good and bad, Kirara was too young to understand what he meant.

xxxxxxx– What does that mean?
xxxxxxx– If you're scared, slow down and get closer to me. These two are very skilled but not exactly good with hatchlings.
xxxxxxx– I won't be scared! – She said but he replied with a smug smile that made her blush in embarrassment. She must have sounded like a child. – I'll be careful! – The banescale said, timidly.

xxxxxxxThe formation changed, now Hakim was flying tailwind. she was right besides Connor, and watching Tila lead the flight, breaking wind ahead of them. It was twice as hard now. Kirara finally realised Hakim would often slow down his flying on purpose for her to catch up. Tila was doing no such thing.

xxxxxxxShe had long and beautiful wings; her mane was loose for the first time since Kirara remembers and her weapons were snuggly attached to her hips. She wore the title of the master flyer and Nature representative with pride and Kirara thought she was so cool.

xxxxxxxUntil Tila did a somersault mid-flight firing a beam of green light and magic leaves at them. For a brief moment, Kirara was sure she had fired at her. For a brief moment, the green light blinded her.

xxxxxxxKirara panicked and her wings cramped as she dropped from the skies. Luckily for her, Hakim soared beneath her and steered her back into a smooth flight.

xxxxxxxAhead of the two, Tila fired magic leaves of golden, teal and white towards Connor as beams of cold and icy crystals broke through the sky and clashed with her attacks. Their wings flapped and turned as they kept trying to hit each other, and manoeuvred to escape the other's magic. They would rise under wind currents, then drop almost hitting the waves before picking wind up again. The calm morning sky lighted up in green, soft white, hail and leaves.

xxxxxxx– Woah...

xxxxxxxHakim laughed.

xxxxxxx– I told you to be careful.
xxxxxxx– Are they always like this? – She asked.
xxxxxxx– We often use these missions to train, yes.
xxxxxxx– We?! Do you fight them like that as well, uncle Kim?
xxxxxxx– We take turns. Free for all, then two on one. These missions are often safe, but now and then we run into trouble. Pays off to be honing your fighting skills.
xxxxxxx– I didn't know Connor was a good fighter!
xxxxxxx– He may not look the part, but he's the strongest ice dragon in Porto. Not sure why he refused to be a representative, but he must have had his reasons.
xxxxxxx– He refused?! – She said shocked anybody would deny what she believed was the highest honour a dragon could have: representing the very elements that formed Sornieth. – Awn... I want to be a good flyer like him and Tila.

xxxxxxxShe said watching the two pick up distance from them in their crazy fight. Kirara looked at the waves beneath them and felt really miserable. She couldn't dream to compare with them. They were powerful and strong and she was only marginally better than Maeve as a flyer. At least Maeve had a serious job, she thought.

xxxxxxx– You must be very proud of yourself for keeping up this far, Kiki. Tila must have been really impressed. – Hakim said smiling.
xxxxxxx– Hm? Why?
xxxxxxx– If she was worried about your flying skills or whether she would need to watch out for your safety, she wouldn't have fired at Connor. – He said guiding Kirara up a warm current. – You must have left quite an impression on her.
xxxxxxx– R-really?!
xxxxxxx– Of course! She must have noticed you're more than capable of taking care of yourself. I wouldn't be surprised if you made into the Beastclan effort team in a few years. You're quite the flyer.
xxxxxxx– I could be a Beastclan Diplomat?!
xxxxxxx– Or a Lightning representative. You're much more talented with lightning magic than you believe.
xxxxxxx– Really?! You think so?!
xxxxxxx– Yes. You're still too young, but who knows. You have a lot of thunder in you. You were always a wildcard. – He once more ruffled the top of her head with her wing, letting the two drop flight a little.

xxxxxxxHe picked up steered flight quickly and for the first time, she noticed that she did too. Almost as fast as he did, she was once again soaring steadily under the soft summer breeze.

xxxxxxxAhead of them, Tila and Connor kept fighting. A massive bolt of leaves clashed with a fierce icy breath that froze the entire mass of green into a huge teal-looking iceberg. The crystal dropped into the waves making a huge splash. When Kirara and Hakim passed by the cloud of magic where their attacks had met it had a cold minty aroma.

xxxxxxxKirara flapped her wings strong and powerful, letting her wings spread wide under the sun. She was a good flyer, and she was soaring.
