Biography

Arconiste is not one to be crossed. Although both Mother Gods are formidable and revered above all others within the Clan of Voidlight Valley, one would much prefer an encounter with Vashinide over Force Personified. Arconiste's mighty frame overflows with love, it is true, but where Vashinide presides over difficult situations with gentleness and grace, Her Wife will do what She must to simply tear the problem down. For as much strife as the Valley weathers, for as many entities seek to do it harm on an ongoing basis, many more would descend to ravage the clandragons' dens were it not for the sheer power of protection and dissuasion that She exudes. In fact, so effective has the subtle exertion of Her aura proven that, according to both clan records and word of mouth, She has only ever had to take more drastic measures exactly once. The Great Storm, a cataclysm so immense that it not only threatened the continued existence of Voidlight Valley, but also managed to tear several gashes into the previously well-contained fabric of the looming Void. Though the once-idyllic stability of the Valley was forever lost during the Storm, much more destruction besides could have been levied had Arconiste not summoned every drop of Her Might to pull the sundered Valley back together. In order to put an end to its rampaging, She then took all of the Lightning energy of the Storm and pushed it into the very egg Her Wife was brooding over, causing an override in its Element from Shadow to Lightning. Without such a dramatic show of Force, would Aettel, They who hatched from the egg, be nearly the same dragon They are today? Who can say? Arconiste did as She must. Today, several years later, She still replays these memories on repeat in Her mind, captioning them with Her endless self-doubting. Did She act swiftly enough? Could She have saved the rest of Her lost brood with a different approach? Was it too reckless of Her, to risk that the Storm's might would break Aettel's egg and leave Her entirely childless? Arconiste moves on pure instinct to secure Her victories with all haste, then later crumbles under the weight of responsibility for Her choices. The confidence and strength She acts with is bolstered only by Her divine power; She lacks such feelings within Her internal landscape. Indeed, often Her mind whispers taunts of the knowledge of what She used to be— am I really any better today than that mindless beast My Wife once found...? She had such grand hopes when She and Vashinide settled into the crook of the Valley. A big, beautiful family of little godlings to raise with care, a peaceful domain of carefree worshipers to lavish worship on Her Family in exchange for protection, and a strong, stable foundation for it all to rest on... an ambitious dream, true, but one that felt well within reach. She blames Herself each day that the vision withered where it should have fruited - especially with each new problem that requires a new show of force to tamp down. Though the love She shares with Vashinide holds strong, it has become tempered with tinges of despair and pangs of isolation inside this pain that haunts Her. Does Arconiste have the strength to hold up the realm on Her shoulders alone...?
